  4. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) You know what other school was really going after Curtis Stinson? Drexel, the powerhouse of the east. Great recruits are nice, but if you got the coaching, and Illinois does, and players willing to work hard, anything can happen. Reminds me of Chester Frazier of the Fighting Illini. His only other offers were from La Salle and The College of Charleston. Despite this, I guess he has been absolutly phenomenal since makng his commitment.
  5. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 11:08 PM) Please offer something to the thread and explain your reasoning. :headshake Honestly, you really think its that hard to think of what I'm inferring? It's a two way street here, nothing more.
  6. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) I thought this was deserving of its own thread. Obviously with the renovations, the stadium has improved into a pretty elite park, but being that most here are all diehards, would you revert back to the stadium five years ago, if it meant there would be 10,000 more tickets to get your hands on? No.
  7. My 1st thought was obviously Hack Wilson. Although he had 208 hits in that awesome 1930 season.
  8. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) The middle men/women never due.... 3/4 of the stadium will not be sox fans like us. I'm pretty sure season most ticket holders are die-hards.
  9. We've been long-time season tocket holders, so we would qualify?

  19. Fox Cancels ALCS After Just Two Episodes October 13, 2005 | Onion Sports LOS ANGELES—Fox Entertainment president Peter Liguori announced Thursday that the network is pulling the plug on ALCS, the new three-hour drama/comedy about two rival clubs competing for the coveted "pennant," just two shows into its run. "This uninspired series featured a cast of uninteresting characters, a hackneyed plot, and more boring narration than actual meaningful dialogue," Liguori said. "We tried to find an audience on Tuesdays, then on Wednesdays, and we were prepared to move its time slot to Friday nights or Saturday afternoons before ultimately realizing that the series had zero potential." Television experts cited several other possible reasons for the early cancellation, such as the overly expensive sets and costumes, the show's subject matter, and the fact that the series' projected breakout character—a brash, outspoken black man named Carl Everett—tested very poorly with audiences. Fox remains optimistic about its other fledgling program, NLCS, but critics say the series has "very little chance" of making it past seven episodes.
