  1. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 2, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) Wow, and why can't they win at home? Maybe we should play in a completely empty park for the playoffs. Just get Veeck's son as the owner and were set. "Fan lock out day, Major league Edition".
  2. QUOTE(56789 @ Sep 1, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) Some customer i had last night told me it was ridiculous that they drove the prices this high because the oil they was slowed by the hurricane wont be getting here for another couple months, so the prices should be going up then and we should be paying however much it cost back when the current gas was bought, which kind of makes sense but i have no idea how this stuff works. Well, think about it this way. The gas stations already had gas, long before the hurricane. Yet the day the hurricane hits, gas prices jump. So basically, what I get from this, is that gas can instantly teleport itself across the country. To be serious here, I believe the whole process is much more than months, more like a couple years.
  3. What I don't get is that it was the oil refineries affected. It takes around 3 years to turn oil into gas, yet the gas rise is happening now. We don't have a gas shortage right now, yet every company increased its prices anyway. I guess we should be happy we don't live in Georgia, where it's over 6 dollars.
  4. I could be wrong, but I thought I heard Burke will be called up when the AAA season ends on September 5th, along with Brian Anderson. Also, we have all been hearing Casanova was going to get called up for awhile now. No real surprise. EDIT: Ignore the the first part. There was talk of this before, but now I just reread the original article, so it aint going to happen.
  5. David Sanders? Jeez, he's still in the organization?
  6. Ohio State game last year. Greatest. Thing. Ever.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) McCarthy is #25 Ahh, ok. I forgot all about him coming up to pitch the DH.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) Read through the thread again. Crede will come off of the DL and take Baj's place on the playoff roster. Minus Crede, Minus Adkins, minus Anderson, Plus Podz, Plus Baj equals 24 if I'm doing this right. So Crede would take up the empty spot, I think. DISCLAIMER: I get really confused when it comes to any sort of roster management
  9. No matter who has this spot on the roster, it aint going to matter much either way.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) Again, WHY THE f*** DOES IT MATTER? It's not like he's taking the spot from a better relief option. Even if he doesn't pitch, he's not gonna hurt anything or give anyone herpes. Calm down. I don't think he is the one who has to calm down...
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Anyone, Anyone??? *crickets* Do we really need another pitcher?
  12. I'm drawing a blank here, who would take his spot on the playoff roster? Since he is now on the 25 man and there is no eligible players on the DL, doesn't that mean he has to be on the playoff roster? Regardless, I'm not overly excited about this move.
  13. Is the only way to be playoff eligible is to be on the 25 man/DL on August 31st?
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 05:12 AM) I went 2 for 4 against Ron Mahay in college. But I guess that doesnt count. He was a stud hitter back then and was drafted for that. PWNED!
  15. This is great. I love watching Bears fans march through misery year after year. It's looking even worse than last year. They'll be lucky to win 3 games.
  16. I have been thinking we would be no hit against him for a couple days now. His line: 9 IP, 0 Hits, 2 BB
  17. I usually hate Curt, but this time is different. I applaud him for these comments.
  18. f***in umps might have cost Garland a Cy Young award. Thanks you tools.
