  1. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) If Cleveland or Minnesota win the WC we would not face them till the ALCS, no? Correct.
  2. Frank Robinson wins this one easy, I think. As for current players, I'd go Bobby Abreu.
  3. Wedding Crashers was brutal. Vince Vaughn was good, but Owen Wilson was awful. It was overall just a horrible movie in general. Couple of funny parts, but then just long bores in between. In sometimes wanted to be a love story more than a comedy, which is a no-no.
  4. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) Would Kerry Wood be able to beat teams without overpowering them? LOL, no. He can't even figure out how to pitch with 100% of his stuff.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 25, 2005 -> 06:52 PM) The Twinkies because it would be one HELLUVA series and it would be schweeeeeet! Packed crowds, high intensity, playoffs, rivalry.....gives me goosebumps. I think we could schilack them in a series. We wouldn't be playing them first, though. I think its obvious we don't want anyone from the Central. We probaly want someone from the East. Any one of Boston/Baltimore/New York would do. All have horrible starting pitching. Just stay the hell away from Oakland.
  6. Really? Well then, explain me the fact that the mediocre Central has a better overall winning percentage than the East. Or how the Central is 13 games over that mighty AL East. Even the goddam Royals are above .500 vs the AL East this year, you f***ing tool. Oh and what about Freddy Garcia? Yeah thats right, we have plenty more than Buerhle and Garland but you don't care to mention him. I personally guarantee he's 10 times better than any starting pitcher on the Red Sox. And then he goes on about our dire need of a better closer. Oh god, that just about killed me. That was the most ignorant piece of garbage I have ever read.
  7. Add in Lowell and will give you both Timo and Crede! Its a deal.
  8. 2nds this. I hate them. I hate them all! So Bo Sox fan next to me was all alone and managed to slip in a whole 24 case of beer. How, I still don't know. But her drunk self was very annoying. Every play was the last out in the World Series. Oh, did you know about Curt Schilling's bloody sock from the World Series last year. I sure do, considering I must have heard the story about 50 times in the last 2 innings. No exagerations.
  9. I'll take Uribe over any possible canidate thank you very much.
  10. Best Wallpaper yet. Too bad I really don't care for el Duque, but I'll use it anyways.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:54 PM) Which mag does USA Today put out every week? Its in a newspaper form, I really enjoy reading that. Sports Weekly.
  12. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) As I only follow baseball and NASCAR from America, I guess a baseball only magazine would be best. I don't reckon there is such a thing as a baseball/NASCAR hybrid. SportingNews is actually really big on Nascar and Baseball. There is also a lot on American Football and some basketball as well, but they tend mainly to focus on Nascar and Baseball. Weird combo, I know.
  13. I subscribe to Sports Weekly, SportingNews, Sports Illustrated, Baseball Digest and ESPN the magazine. Get Sportingnews. It is by far the best mag out there for sports. EDIT: Check that. I like SN the best. Sports Illustrated has very long articles that I sometimes find boring to read. SN has all the shorts tidbits about just about anything. Really, depends on your readin style.
  14. QUOTE(upnorthsox @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 10:08 PM) No t, that was last yr. I could of sworn he has some sort of injury. I know it came up when we were in talks with them earlier in the year.
  15. Isn't he pitching with a torn rotator cuff, or some other extreme injury? I'm sorry, but when you get a reliever down the stretch, you need him to be a workhorse. This is Everyday Eddie, but I'm skeptical about his injury.
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Might as well let it go.. It's simply not worth it. I didn't want to bring it up, as it probaly shouldn't be. I just don't understand why people say this guy is a team leader, even though what he has done off the field shows otherwise.
  17. I loved him when we got him the first time, then hated him the instant he took the field for us. I'll pass. Then again, Kenny just loves veteran relievers over our studs in the minors, so he is better than a couple of our options.
  18. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) I want the quote....... You mean you don't remember when he called out Frank Thomas, the best baseball player this city has ever seen? Or just last month when he bashed Juan Uribe?
  19. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) Tell me one thing that makes him selfish......he is a team leader, everyone respects him on the team.....if he was selfish i guarentee Ozzie would put him in his place..... The fact that he has called out players multiple times in his Sox career. I'm sorry Paul, what have you done to warrant such actions? To me, he's a stat padder. Carlos Lee to a much lesser extent.
  20. QUOTE(Bonkeymutt @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:09 PM) Why don't you want paulie back? He's a good hitter and a solid first baseman. Because his ass is going to get overpaid like no bodys business. Eight to ten mil a year for a selfish, one dimensional hitter? I'll pass.
  21. Wow, great job SoxFan1 and thanks for updating my sig DePloderer. I think I'll go back to it soon. Test: Looks real good, especially if you really did do it fast. As for best image person on this site, my vote goes towards DePloderer. Goldmember has obviously been here a bit longer, but DePloderer has some serious skills.
  22. You got to love America. I guess Bill did have all that time to campaign as Illinois' official celebrity fan. Where is good ole Hugh Hefner?
