  1. Anderson blowing up made-up Soxtalk narratives is pretty comical.
  2. Yep and La Russa and company said as much before game 4. He wasn't even throwing complete bullpen sessions before then
  3. Rodon wasn't ready. They've gone into this in detail at this point. Dylan Cease is worse vs the Astros than even Lance Lynn is. Giolito game 2 game the best opportunity to pull out a win in Houston. With how he pitched, it wasn't good enough and certainly wasn't going to be good enough in game 1 either. We lost because literally all the starters were terrible. It didn't matter when they were used or not.
  4. Part of that is realizing he doesn't have the stuff to actually be a starter.
  5. It just seems like we're looking for excuses to not blame the historically bad pitching for being historically bad. Even if Jose Ruiz is your game 1 starter, you need a better performance than what we got. That said I think your solutions are somehow worse. Game 2 vs a lefty was the game we needed to win. Rodon wasn't ready and they've gone into enough detail there on his specific bullpen sessions to show that. Putting Dylan Cease there and his 16.20 ERA at Minute Maid, and his awful numbers vs >.500 team is not the answer for someone who is also bad at Minute Maid. But of course again, there no real answers here as historically bad pitching is historically bad.
  6. Yep. Unreal they don't hit him there. Would have course been the better baseball play anyways.
  7. These anti Abreu posts are bizarre. A 3 WAR 1bman is the least of our problems. It's not a problem at all, in fact.
  8. So your idea was to start Dylan Cease in Houston? And you think that would have been better? Giolito should also be able to go more than 4 innings. It was a bad performance and embarrassing that his was the "best".
  9. I mean starters are supposed to start. We essentially had the worst starting pitching performance in baseball history. That throws everyone else for a loop too.
  10. If Sheets has any meaningful value, trade him tomorrow but I doubt a platoon only, non prospect, player without a position is worth anything.
  11. I'm okay with addressing RF in house if we sign one of the many great infielders available. Obviously a huge if. Competent outfielders can be had for cheap at the deadline.
  12. We also get a lot worse. Jose Abreu is a better player than anyone who could replace him in-house right now. You do not need to take him out of the picture to play lesser players. Not to mention his massive off the field influence. Abreu is the farthest thing from an issue for this team rigjt now.
  13. How the hell does that solve anything
  14. Astros cheating is always relevant Steve. We have to hear about the White Sox throwing a world series over 100 years later, the Astros have to deal with their tainted trophy now.
  15. The Astros cheating should be shouted as loudly as possible at every opportunity possible. They should not be playing baseball. The Black Sox would never be banned if it happened today.
  16. I'm really tired of the media covering up that they did indeed cheat.
  17. Brother we root for one of the worst franchises in sports history. We take banners when we get them.
  18. Well they won the greatest regular season game ever. This team was indeed so goddam fun though when Yermin and Hamilton were regularly in the lineuo.
  19. He said he's back if his players want him back. Don't think players have an issue with him
  20. Why? Unless Hahn goes too. Hahn is in charge of acquiring major league talent. Hes to blame.
  21. Astros reliever just told us to go fuck ourselves coming off the field lmao
