  1. Dick Allen, you are the man. Very true and nice quote. I think we need to realize that we are a big problem to this team, and it is not just the organization.
  2. I'm getting to it, trying to find the topic on this. I can't seem to find it yet but I did find one that said we matched a 3 years/30 million dollar offer for him, acording to ESPN radio.
  3. What about the quote straight from his agent that said we had 3 years, 27 million on the table?
  4. No it really doesn't if you think about it. We can get Odalis and el Duque for MUCH cheaper, and Clement isn't actually a star compared to them. **WAITS FOR THE, " WERE NEVER GOING TO SIGN PEREZ", response, based on no sources**
  5. What???? 4 million was not our offer. Stop making stuff up. An original offer had us at 3 years, 8.5 per. Bruce Levine was just on about an hour ago saying we were in the neighborhood of 3 years, 21 million. Not the so-called 12 million that you said.
  6. I think every one needs to settle down. This was the first big-time free agent that we have been on in for a long time and we lost out on him. Well, it sucks, but the bashing over KW for 1 guy is incredible.
  7. Yes, I highly doubt they could beat the AL all-stars.
  8. You're certainly the minority on that. In fact, you are the only one who would say such a thing.
  9. According to ESPN, our deal was 3 years, 8.5 million, which would be 25.5 million.
  10. I would'nt really trust that. First it was supposed to be Wenesday, than Thurday, than "the next 2 days."
  11. Maby true but if you want a 3rd starter, you have to overpay considerably for him. There is no other way.
  12. Good for Jose, I hope he does well there. I loved to see him go but he's a grinder so I can only hope the best for him when he's playing elsewhere.
  13. I think the bidding with start off at 8 million, 4 years for him. Than we'll offere him like 9 million 6 years, but an all incentive contract. JR, you're too f***ing cheap!!!! :fyou :fyou
  14. I am no longer a fan of Sox fans. They whine too much.
  15. I guess Q101 was right after all.
  16. Ok, bear with me here. About a half hour ago Q101 reported(Yes, the alternative rock station ) that they were the first to bring us an story. They went on to say that the Yanks have officially gotten Randy Johnson. Now I was going to give tjhis its own thread, but then I considered the source.
  17. I'm going to doubt that this one gets through.
  18. I think you are missing the point. Win/lose record has no bearing if you put up other solid numbers. With solid numbers, your W/L basically depends on your run support. And its no like run support has any thing to do with him and run support will possibly change dramatically when you switch teams, depending on the offense. I mean, its not like our players are going to go out there and say "You know what, Matt is pitching today, and frankly, I don't feel like hitting so I'll just take a lesson from the Cubs and go 0-4 with 3 K's.
  19. The Cubs would just maul the O's in that deal, simply put.
  20. The Cubs just would rape them in that deal.
