  1. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Anything over 10 is pretty damn bad for a corner outfielder. Only Jermaine Dye had more than 10 among qualified OF's last year. And that doesn't count the two plays that went of his glove that they ruled hits!!!!!!!
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) Wilkerson is a s***ty fielder too . The one he misplayed into extra bases last Friday was a routine fly ball.
  3. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) Chicago radio died the day they split up the Score personalities. North and Jiggets followed by McNeil and Boers were the best. The transition between those shows was priceless. McNeil acted like a 300-lbs baby after that because the Score took Mike North's side vs. his. And North became even more of a primadonna after that. The Monsters of the Mid-day followed by the Heavy Fuel Crew was the high time in Chicago radio. Couldn't agree more - Ebony & Ivory was the best! Now my day is divided as follows: Mike and Mike Switch to North at 9:00 to avoid Rosenbloom Switch to Dan Patrick at 2:00 to avoid Boring and Bernstein MJH for the drive home It's a shame I have to switch up and back to avoid abrasive jerks - to Boring everyone but him is a pud or an asshole or worse. Rosenbloom pontificates for three hours - Sports talk sure has gone down the crapper since the SCORE switched the line up years back.
  4. What the heck is up with Pods - can't catch? That's the second ball in a week he had bounce off his glove - granted neither was an easy catch but he gets paid to make those plays.
  5. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) How about Pauly snoozing on that play and allowing a guy to score from 2nd? I couldn't agree more ! We can pick on Brian Anderson for not hitting but I don't think he would have misplayed the ball allowing second base and may have cut the second one off faster allowing a real play at the plate. What the hell was Paulie our team captain doing - picking his nose while the guy scored ! He was more worried about convincing the ump he caught is than making the play at the plate!

    QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 8, 2006 -> 04:12 AM) I plan on going back after my lifetime ban expires. Seriously, I'm just trying to inform another segment of Sox fans who may have been blinded to the insight I awaken in them. If you watched the playoff games and world series you would realize he is an above average 3rd baseman. As a matter of fact since you don't watch much - he made an above average play on the very next ball put in play !!!!!!
  7. Based on current vote totals is anyone out there voting for Sox players? We filled a ton of votes out at the game and I have been voting on-line on several e-mails but wonder if anyone else is voting for Sox to be on the all-star team.
  8. QUOTE(Thunderin @ May 31, 2006 -> 04:50 AM) http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines Josh Fields is batting .326 with eight home runs and 23 RBIs in his first 39 games with Triple-A Charlotte. He has been playing third, but that could change if he continues to develop hitting as quickly as he has in his first seven weeks with the Knights. Fields could switch to the outfield. "We might have to consider this for Fields, simply because Joe is at third base, and Joe is the best in the business," general manager Ken Williams said.... "[Fields] is a good athlete," Williams said of the former Oklahoma State quarterback. "… We may be forced [to switch his position] because Josh is coming, and he's coming fast." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * So Fields would come up and move to LF. * Podsdnik would move back to CF (his natural position) * Then Send Anderson to AAA so he can idk, "find himself". I think its a good idea. Kenny Williams is on the SCORE with Murph right now - doesn't sound like Brian Anderson is going anywhere!

I think its a good idea. I remember when Joe Crede came up and played good defense and couldn't hit for squatt - If we had given up on him as fast as people want to give up on Brian Anderson where would we be now? Give the guy a chance to work it out !
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 24, 2006 -> 05:09 AM) I was wondering if we could get some feedback from y'all on our new front page. It's in a starter mode, still, but I love the podcasts and we're always wondering what you all would like to see. I like it and check it daily. The challenge is to keep getting timely articles.
  11. QUOTE(WinningUgly85 @ May 22, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) I decided to listen to how the Cub fans percieved the incident with Barrett and AJ so I listened to these guys podcast and they have a post up on their site. It is truely pathetic. Just listen to their podcast its alot worse. http://www.cubscast.com/blog/2006/05/22/no...prises/#respond In the word of Ozzie "F**k the Cubs" Who the hell cares what they think! Actually they couldn't think of they wouldn't be Cub fans. :fthecubs

    QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 16, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) Blah, netflix sucks. After while they kick you into a lower priority to get their new clients movies first, it really isnt that good of a service at all. I switched back to blockbuster. Gee Rock that's twice this week I agree with you! Used to be a Netflix subsriber but converted to Blockbuster. Think their rate was a little cheaper and selection a little better - never had a problem and get a quick turnaround!
  13. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ May 12, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) I like trades like A-Rows. We've got a guy who's first in the AL in HR, RBI, and OBP (min 100ab) and they've got a guy who will be a fan favorite and leaves it all out on the field. Both teams won. Trades like this make Kenny an intriguing trading partner. As far as getting him back, I loved A-Row when he was with the Sox, and will always consider him a favorite no matter where he's playing, but I want to see BA patrol CF for several years. I think we've got something special in that kid. I couldn't agree more - let's give him a chance. He seems to have it together defensively and his bat is coming around. A lot of talk on the airwaves comparing him to Joe Crede - if we had given up on Joe when he was less than a star with the bat where would we be now!
  14. QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 7, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) Thanks everyone, not being a native, I'm sure we'd love anybody's deep dish, but Lou's it is. Now we've just got to sort breakfast out. As we'll be having a few of these, maybe this discision isn't quite so crucial. Don't worry, I won't be asking which hot dog stand we need to to frequent or open up the topic of ketchup or no ketchup. It seems you made your decision - Lou's is awful good but having worked for Ike Sewell the original owner of Pizzeria Uno and Due - Pizzeria Due is the best! Lou Malnatti was one of the first managers at Pizzeria Uno and left to start his own chain - they do have great pizza you can't lose either way!
  15. Monopoly is designing a monopoly game for various cities. The Chicago landmark leading the race for Chicago is "Wrigley Field" Sox fans unite!!!!! Go to Monopoly.com and vote for Navy Pier currently in second or we will be stuck with that dump as the Chicago Landmark!
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 12:55 AM) Listed below is the first letter I have ever written to the Better Business Bureau. This is my first dealing with this organization and I was wondering if I approached this in the correct manner. Will I be taken seriously? Do these complaints ever truly come to fruition? Please lend me your opinion on both my letter and what outcome I may expect. It's appreciated. I am surprised by your service complaints. My son went to the U of I Champaign and used the Illini Express for four years and in all the trips he made their service was exceptional - never a late bus (in fact often a few minutes early even when there was road work being done).
  17. QUOTE(J-MAN @ Apr 27, 2006 -> 07:12 PM) Some day I will learn how to post properly!!!
  18. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) Your company with Dell = Wonderful, helpful company. You on your own with Dell = The worst company in the computing business. Dell doesn't care about Joe Public. I bought Dell at first because I loved the one I had at work. When mine went down, I didn't hold anything against the company. I understood that sometimes you get a lemon. I was looking for satisfaction and some sort of peace of mind. Instead I got people who could hardly speak English, and the people were rude and of no help at all. They kept sending me refurbished hard drives. I would tell them I don't want a refurbished hard drive, after the second drive, it was obvious it was a greater problem. But nope, Habib told me I could only get a refurbished hard drive, the third time, and that a tech would be out to install it in two weeks. I told him to send me the drive, I would install it myself. He said they wouldn't be responsible for it if I did that. I told them they were of no help to me to begin with, so fine, send me the damn drive and get out of my life. I got the drive. It lasted for about 6 months. I bought a new one from Best Buy, and it is still going. The computer still has problems though, but I just deal with them and be sure to back-up every couple months. Don't understand everyone's problem with Dell! I have purchased several computers from them and all were super. Recently purchased a network color laser -they were super - had a problem with it when I replaced the toner - used their on-line chat support - actually worked well. I had a problem with my 5-year old laptop yesterday - went on-line and purchased a replacement AC supply in less than 5 -minutes! Definitely need to have your service tag - makes life a whole lot easier! Dell sucks.
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 21, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) How is it. I love Lindy's chili on t he southside. I drive past that place all the time and have never tried it. Used to go to the original Bishops on Damen and work by Lindies - they are both okay but nothing like making your own!!!! There is a great book out called "Chilli Madness" by Jane Butel. After a while you realize most of the recipes are pretty much alike and learn to wing it on your own. The other neat thing about Jane Butel and her web site is she sells hot and mild red chilli powder - the real stuff without oregano and other stuff mixed in. My son and I have been following her recipes for years and YES we prefer to make it with beans!!! I know this is not the original but just seems right !

    QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:03 PM) Is that all bad?
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) 5 years $50 million? Mark would laugh at that contract, and justifiably so. When all is said and done, Mark Buehrle is looking at a deal in the $15 million/yr range, not $10mil. Chicago might be able to get him in the $13-14 range just for a home town discount, but if he hits the FA market, he is looking at 5/75, and maybe a 6-7 year deal. s*** an injury prone Burnett just got 5-55, Mark is looking at much more being a lefty and never missing any starts. Asolutely ! I will defer to my son Zoom but think he's worth the 5/65 range!!!
  22. QUOTE(infohawk @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) Thanks for providing the link!!! Awesome clip - Thanks!!!!
  23. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) I guess I will have to break down and get it sometime. As several people have posted if you are thinking of buying it I think Deep Discount DVD has the best price!!!!
  24. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Hope we get to go to Sox games for a lot more seasons!!!!!!!! Dad
  25. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) I hate to say this, but... Good. It should be $4 a gallon, if not more. More good than bad will come from higher gas prices, at this point in our country's history. It will suck for all of us in the meantime, but it will force changes that are desperately needed for our long term success and survival. What are you smoking - remember the last gas crisis - we went to smaller cars for a while but now they are bigger than ever - ridiculous when you see some little woman who can't see over the steering wheel driving something as big as a buss.
