Official 2006 NBA Draft Thread
WhiteSoxFan1 replied to AssHatSoxFan's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I havent read every post so sorry if this is repeated, but I just heard from another message board that talks have heated up between minnesota and chicago in which chicago would trade their 2 1st round picks along with Loul Deng for Kevin Garnett. -
Kenny's thoughts on Ozzie and possible consequences
WhiteSoxFan1 replied to WSoxMatt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
We are having possibly the best year and half in white sox history and the fact that theres even talk of or even the word "firing" being brought up about our manager is just Ridiculous. We are winning games thats all that matters. Deal with situations like this when we arnt near the top of the league standings. -
Kenny's thoughts on Ozzie and possible consequences

my 2 cents... To me it felt like KW was throwing Oz under the bus, but I dont know for sure. I hope im wrong. Id love to hear player reactions to this. Im a huge fan of Ozzie and why people are so thin skinned when it comes to ozzie's talking I dont know. Every little thing he says gets blown out of proportion. Then for KW to even mention firing him after all hes done so far is just idiocy IMO. Id expect KW to show the same loyalty and support to Ozzie as Ozzie does toward the players. Stick up for eachother through thick and thin. Thats what a team is all about. -
QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 06:07 AM) Is that a picture of you on your avatar..? Na thats not me. Its boxer Jermain Taylor.

I doubt any of you remember me because I wasnt around too long and didnt make a huge impression while I was here, but I was mostly a Boxing poster. I love my boxing along with the chicago white sox. I live in Des Plaines, IL. Northside suburb, but a huge white sox fan. Anyway, Sorry if this topic was started somewhere already, and if not are there any other boxing fans that post here? Any thoughts on Hopkins-Tarver or Taylor-Winky? Im a huge Jermain Taylor fan and my complete unbias opinion after the fight was that a draw was the only logical decision. Why Winky was crying and moaning before and after the press conference like he was robbed ill never know. I guess all we can do is hope they have a rematch because id love to see it again.

^^exactly what I didnt want to hear. nextel usually charges much more than everyone else, plus I think I also extended my contract when I bought my current phone, to lower the price, which they'll probably add onto. I wanted to do this because im going on vacation soon, and I wanted a camera phone, since its the new in thing. I didnt want to spend 350 bucks on the new nextel one either, but im guessing its gonna be in the 200-300 dollar range just to get out of this contract plus add buying and setting up a plan with another company. ehhh not good. Ill get the bad news tomorrow when I call them I guess.

I was wondering if anyone knew off hand around how much it costs to "buy out" your contract for the phone. also if I were to buy a T-Moble phone, would I be able to keep my same nextel stuff (ei: number and phonebook)

Exactly, T-mac had no fight or will left in him last year. I even read somewhere he was saying "we were going into each game not just knowing we'd lose, but by how much. We just wanted to get in and out as fast as we could." heh great way to lead a team huh. Juwan Howard who im glad we traded because hes slowing down with age, and also hasnt been on a winning team ever in his carrer seems to have been a curse, but hes another guy on the team who played like he gave a damn last year. Heard he was one of the few who'd put in extra practice time and hang around with Johnny Davis at the magic facilities. This year though there seems to be a flare of excitment, and a bounce in everyones step . Im ready for a big year. I cannot wait for the season opener vs milwaukee.

Yea Dwight is definatly up there early. Ben has had a really bad preseason, but im sure he'll start to get used to the speed of the game. I agree looks like Stevenson might be traded, since Bogans might be asking for a trade if hes placed on the IR. I wish they could find more time for Bogans, because I thought he was one of only a few bright spots last year, and he keeps working harder and harder yet keeps droping farther down on the bench.

I thought I remember talking with someone on here about the buccaneers and/or Orlando Magic. Anyway I found this piece that was put together from their past preseason game vs the rockets. Hopefully a sign on things to come of high energy action, with everyone having fun and playing together. http://home.earthlink.net/~stealthninja/houvorl.wmv

History in the making
WhiteSoxFan1 replied to WhiteSoxFan1's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
It definatly wasnt the most exciting fight being that I was so hyped up, it wasnt boring for me, but for those who were just casually watching I could see a snorefest. My grandpa and cousin were yelling F this F boxing, that was the girliest punch they ever saw. But in my opinion it could be simmed up with 4 words...Bigger man, Bigger Punch.
