While talking to Joe...My buddy goes up to him and Joe, ya really gotta fire Scott as the agent, we need ya here. Crede ignores him and then my buddy again says, Joe I wasn't kiddin. Then Joe kind of mumbles with a laugh and says I'm going to need him in the next few years. After that, I had to welcome Josh Fields to the South Side. It stung

It was really really good to see Robin back with the Sox. First favorite and is the reason I'm a die hard. Nicest, mellowest guy out there and I hope there's a job lined up somewhere for him here if he wants it.

I believe the woman that brought up that question to Williams with proof in hand was one of our own, Steff. At least I'm pretty sure, I also give her mad props

Courtesy of www.foxsports.com Complete Story Version While the Padres remain the overwhelming favorites to sign free-agent left-hander David Wells, the pitcher also is drawing interest from the Blue Jays, another of his former clubs. The Jays would like to sign Wells, FOXSports.com has learned, but are skeptical they will get the chance. Wells, 43, lives in San Diego, and wants to rejoin his hometown Padres, for whom he pitched in 2004 and again in '06. Wells' agent, Gregg Clifton, is expected to speak Wednesday with Padres general manager Kevin Towers. The Jays would enter the picture if the two sides can not reach a deal. Wells has indicated that he would be willing to return to the Jays, his original team. He played in Toronto from 1987-92 and also in 1999 and 2000. The Jays, who recently reached agreement with free-agent right-hander John Thomson on a one-year, $500,000 contract, were forced to explore other rotation options after being rejected by free-agent lefty Ted Lilly and righty Gil Meche. At the very least, the Jays' interest in Wells indicates that they still are not satisfied with the state of their rotation beyond right-handers Roy Halladay and A.J. Burnett and left-hander Gustavo Chacin. The team has discussed trading outfielder Alex Rios for a starting pitcher. Wells and right-handers Roger Clemens and Jeff Weaver are the most prominent free agents remaining on the market. Clemens isn't interested in returning to Toronto and Weaver struggled with the Yankees in 2002 and '03 during his lone stint in the A.L. East. Wells appeals to the Jays because he won 15 games for an A.L. East club as recently as 2005, when he was with the Red Sox. Over the past 11 seasons, he has pitched for every A.L. East team but the Devil Rays - and at the moment, he's relatively healthy. Wells underwent surgery on his right knee after the '05 season and missed six weeks early last season due to lingering knee soreness. In his first start back, the Devil Rays' Travis Lee hit a line drive that struck him in the same knee, forcing Wells to sit out another two months. The pitcher, however, finished strong, going 3-4 with a 3.03 ERA in his final 10 regular-season starts for the Red Sox and Padres. He then lost Game 2 of the Division Series to the Cardinals, allowing two earned runs in five innings. Wells is 230-148 lifetime with a 4.07 ERA. I'm sure you all remember the trouble when both ended up injured in 2001. David Wells called out Frank when it turned out he tore his triceps...More than a month later, Wells couldn't play through back pain and ended up having a good year with the Yanks the following year.

LET'S HEAR IT FOR OL ST. RITA...GO MUSTANGS Hit em High Hit EM LOW GO RITA GO -
Starting off, this may or may not be a bad trade. What irritates me is the fact that Kenny may have pulled the trigger a little early on this one. With lefties like Jamie Walker getting 3 years 12 mil..Teams that need that lefty outta the pen who couldn't get it through free agency may have inquired about Cotts later on...Thus, giving us the tools to get more... Does Cotts make below 1 mil? I feel Cotts would definetly better and an obvious bargain when there's Jamie Walker's out there gettin 4. Not upset with Cotts getting traded, just thought a desperate team might give up more later on for a young lefty guy that a year ago posted an ERA under 2.

thing with haegar is..u really won't know what you'll get day to day outta the pen..control the knuckle one day and then the other day he's wilder than college girls on spring break.

Did you guys get your pin sets? My order sheet said there on back order....

Thanks for that Felix, just ordered em up..Solid pin set free as well.

Well, I giving some thought to this- we can probably get something decent for Pabs. It's obvious that the organization has a man crush on Rob Mackowiak for reasons I'm not really sure about (Oak Lawn product?). Yes, I know Pods will be gone with a Sweeney or a Fields in Left. Next year, I believe Mackowiak should go to his usual middle infield spot starts (2nd,3rd) and the occasionaly corner outfield spots. With that said, where would Pabs play? Is it necessary to have three infielders on the bench (Mack, Cintron, and then Pabs)? Also give Ross a chance to play somewhere (TB, KC, wherever) the guy can flat out hit when given a chance. Jim and Paulie here for the next few years- let the guy play. Gimme your thoughts if you think Pabs will be gone.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone was making the trip up there this weekend. I'm leaving tomorrow with a couple college buddies as a roadtrip before school again. Anyone recommend the bars or whatever while we're there? We're looking forward to drinking legally with the canadian beer Take it easy guys and I'll try to bring a White Sox Sweep.
-
I don't mind Keystone Light, as that is what we drink at ISU. Should add Icehouse to this list.

a shame for him but he's no different than anyone else. per rotoworld.com Esteban Loaiza was arrested early Wednesday morning on DUI charges after officers pulled him over for speeding, a California Highway Patrol spokesman told the Oakland Tribune. Officer Mike Wright said Loaiza was driving his Ferrari in excess of 120 mph about 3:30 a.m. He was arrested for reckless driving and driving under the influence when he failed a Breathalyzer test. Loaiza currently remains scheduled to make his start on Thursday. Unless the Breathalyzer picked up some HGH, he's in the clear, at least as far as baseball and the A's are concerned. Brian, Did you look up to any side-armers or pitchers in specific while growing up? Burlyman56

Doesn't deserve a new thread but Paulie hit his 225th career homerun today. We have a basher in Thome who already has 450 and another one who needs 225 more. I love our 3-4..
-
Not that this is any significance. We had a closer here that threw meat balls at 93 mph (koch) and got lit up. Granted, Koch doesn't have the second pitch like Jenk's curve, he was done. Bobby needs to get his fastball located but more importantly like knightni stated- he needs to throw that 12 to 6 curve for strikes

very nice pics boz.

courtesy of: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/preview?gameId=260412105 Cleveland 9, Seattle 5 Preview - Box Score - Recap By TOM WITHERS, AP Sports Writer April 11, 2006 Seattle Mariners' Yuniesky Betancourt hits an RBI double off Cleveland Indians' Fernando Cabrera in the seventh inning of their baseball game Tuesday, April 11, 2006, in Cleveland. The Indians won 9-5. AP - Apr 11, 10:14 pm EDT More Photos CLEVELAND (AP) -- Journey's "Don't Stop Believin"' was playing in the Indians' clubhouse following most of the team's 43 home wins last season. It was soft, melodic, unthreatening. On Tuesday night, Atreyu, a hardcore outfit from Southern California, was the preferred house band -- and their new CD with chugging guitar riffs and pounding drums threatened to peel paint. Heavy music. Heavy hitters. Jhonny Peralta and Travis Hafner hit consecutive homers in the fifth inning and Victor Martinez had two RBIs to back Cliff Lee as Cleveland won its sixth straight, 9-5 over the Seattle Mariners. At 6-1, the Indians are off to their best start since opening 11-1 in 2002. It's also the first time they've been in first place in the AL Central since April 18, 2002, a season they finished 74-88. Someone please stop Hafner.
