Wait...that's suppose to be in green...
-
I think my original grades are pretty accurate. It's just that they couldn't play with each other. People would get a hit here and there and no one could come through... When we won games, it would be someone different every night..
-
Never really paid attention to that, but I am sick of both of em talking about their careers. They were either average or below average in baseball. Especially DJ and his days in Japan...
-
I moved him down to a B+..I'll give him the + because of his solid defense in right field. I tend to agree with both of your points...I would to trade him to replenish the farm system and sign a guy like Vlad like someone said earlier...It'd be a great idea if it happened..
-
agree..there's no point in pitching a guy on 3 days rest when the season is done..
-
Hitting R.Alomar: B+..gave us a spark in the 2nd half, played small ball, got on base, hopefully he's here next year.. Lee: A..consistent all year round, leads the team in rbi's and stolen bases..best suited for 2 hole.. Thomas: B+..homers were nice, rbi's were there, batting average is low for the 3 hole, very inconsistent..too one dimensional now. Maggs: B+.. batting average is always there, homers and rbi's were down from last year, not a typical were used to from him.. Everett: B+.. gave us a spark in the 2nd half; average, homers, rbi's, and a couple sb's were all there. would like him back but likely won't happen. Konerko: D+...struggled throughout the year..Had a couple hot streaks..not the all-star last year...tradeable Valentin: C...give us the same consistent production: low BA, pop in the bat, too many K's..unexpected defense was nice.. Crede: B-..probably expected a little more than I should have (after what I seen last year), had some pop, great 3rd base...good 1st full year.. Olivo: C-... eliminated the running game, calls a good game.. Alomar Jr: B-...made contact, great mentor, calls a great game/handling pitching staff. Great coach some day.. Rowand: B...never had a chance after he found his swing, great DR... Graffanino: B+... great utility guy, love to have him back next year... Daubach: D+...pinch-hitting was suited for him, hopefully he'll be good next year on a different team.. Harris: D+...was up basically for pinch running duties..couldn't hit, made a smooth transition to center field. Feel free to agree or disagree with any changes or comments...

Rotation Loaiza: A-...career year, came out of no where, tailed off in september.. Colon: B+... solid year, expected a little more, saved our bullpen.. Buehrle: B... average year, battled back, no run support early in year... Garland: B-...showed strides, consistent, gave a chance to win this year.. 5th Starter: D-... Dan took a big step backwards, and never really had a good outing.. Him in our bullpen next year could be a key. Bullpen Gordon: A-...great boost to our bullpen, solid all year, nasty stuff, K/IP is amazing. Marte: A+...his role is definetly in the bullpen, best lefty reliever in the game. K/IP is great also, getting better every year.. Sullivan: B..solid job while he was here, had a couple of rough outings.. Show: B-...decent long relief guy, he'll be allright next year.. Wunsch: A-... solid again this year, would like to see walks go down.. Koch: D-... big dissapointment, hopefully he can find his velocity during the off season..Did'nt give him an F because he didn't open his mouth, and had 11 saves. Others that were in Bullpen (Adkins,others)...White was horrible, and Adkins is Incomplete.
-
Coaches/GM KW: B+...gave us a solid team to win.. JM: D-...tinkered the line-up can't handle a pitching staff/bullpen.. Coop: B...solid job, would of liked to see him help Wright, and Koch Walker/Baines: C+... decent job didn't really see a difference between him and Ward.. Other Coaches: B+...Nossek is good, as well as Kusnyer. Pitching is next..
-
KW did a great job this year in my opinion...Although we need to rebuild our farm system; he went after it this year on a limited budget, and gave us what needed to make it... Manuel hopefully and should be fired next week.. :fyou Ghandi (Manuel)
-
Hopefully you can give us some white sox winners next year...
-
They might give Show a start or a guy like Adkins or Wright...
-
Good Luck and hope you get a couple... (go by the yankee dugout when they're taking BP) Gates open at 5:30
-
That would be pretty sweet. Neal, if it's you post more often!
-
If they only had a swimming pool for at night...That would be awesome..
-
I had all the bullpen guys from that rail couple years back..The current guys on our team that I don't have autographs are Robbie,Flash, and Show.
-
Yesterday would of been your best bet for autographs; all fans had opportunity to get autographs for a half an hour. I was lucky enough to get cards signed by Carlos,Rowand(2),Daubach(2),Tony,Willie,Botch(2),and Adkins..I sat on the 1st base side and got Carlos Beltran card signed... My Dad helped get the graffanino and harris card signed. Sometimes the guys will sign after they do their stretching, but not long... Make sure you stand their early or else you'll get a bunch of kids knocking you over... Kelly is pretty nice when it comes to signing and Loaiza usually signs while he's in the dugout. I personally would rather bring Yankee cards and get them signed... I wonder how much my Jason Giambi ball is worth? Any ideas?

A question for others who have gone to soxfest
BurlyMan56 replied to HighHeat45's topic in Pale Hose Talk
yeah what could of been... :fyou Sox :fyou Jerry Manuel -
Yea I forgot those.. I usually don't mind those; I like when I see alot of Sox Fans all together...Shows that I'm not alone... THe Carribean party is also a great time where the Sox players are...
-
usually the first weekend of Feburary.
-
Just see it in this point of view.. If we were in any other AL division we could of cared less way far back in the season.
-
Well it's a great place for die-hard Sox Fans..I mean every single booth is all Sox (memorabilia, baseball cards).. You can get autographs from the guys, buy stuff from the booths.. Go to the clinics where the player talk about mechanics and stuff (hitting,catching,pitching)..There's conferences where you can ask questions to players.. I asked Kenny about our bullpen this year and he said it's real solid (talking about guys like Koch and White).. You can chat with guys after everything... The Sox team was on the 26th floor last year.. I woke up at 9:00 for breakfat and right next to me in the elevator was Harold Baines. It's pretty cool to actually see the guys and chat with them.. Aaron Rowand was filthy drunk last year and had a couple beers with the fans..He couldn't even stand straight...It's just a great time for Sox fans..The tickets aren't too much and I think it's a better experience if you spend the whole weekend there.. There's restuarants in there and its right in the loop..
-
I mean the guy's a great guy regardless of how much money he makes.. The guy had the numbers to play this year... Konerko was struggling and Dauber hardly ever played.. He had 20 homer seasons and like 70+ rbis for 4 seasons. Manuel should of played this guy and find some PT for this guy. He can play 1st, he plays some corner outfield (i know he's not a gold glove), he can Dh, and even heard he can catch some. Real nice guy..
-
I was there unfortuanetly...Left really early though...How many days til Sox Fest 2004? I can't wait; I'm start saving up...That weekend is so awesome...Especially when you can hang out with guys like Kelly Wunsch and Aaron Rowand in the bar at 3 in the morning... ... Well who can't wait for Sox Fest???
-
I talked to Daubach at today's game and he sounded REALLY disgusted about not playing.... I was sitting right next to the Lee, Rowand, and Daubach line were they were signing...Daubach was the first one out to sign while Carlos was 10 minutes late...People weren't even asking Daubach to sign..Daubach said that this ain't his kind of town and would love to be back with the other Sox team... He said he can't wait to go back to his 20 homer days and finally get off the bench...He sounded really depressed. I wonder if he went up to Manuel some time and complained or something; because when Manuel put all the subs in Daubach wasn't even in. Manuel should of pinch hit him for Frank at least..He was the only sub on the bench not play (except for the regulars..Alomars)... He said pinch hitting is real tough to handle and something he never has done... Here's to Brian and hopes he can find his swing next year on a different team..

Jose Rijo made it back last year.... so I still think Siro has a chance
