Well, he said today he’s still trying to get fully recovered and comfortable from offseason leg surgery. It’s always something with him.

With Bannister overseeing him? As someone said earlier, Bannister literally said he was his biggest area of focus.

He does a lot of things wrong that make me think he will be a terrible reliever. Bad command and not being able to hold runners is a bad combo for a reliever.

Give him a shot at least, and then move him to reliever in May if it’s going bad. If he can be a solid reliever, plenty of time to build some trade value.

Kopech’s issue is his command sucks, followed by losing all shape to his slider. His velocity has been good this spring, but he just can’t command his fastball.

But what’s the rush to react? Are they worried about losing an extra game or two in April if he has a bad start? This team is losing 100 games with him in the rotation or not, might as well give him a shot as a starter.

I really don’t get anything that’s going on right now. The Getz regime is going about as poorly as one would expect. Whole lots of moves have been made, but very little upside acquired.

For someone like Lopez, don’t they get some blame for not being able to work with him on maintaining velocity when starting, as well as the shape of his slider? If you watch the highlights of his time with Nationals, he looked like a different guy.

Kurtz and Sirota are having disappointing seasons, aren’t they? If the top 4 are Condon, Burns, Cags and Smith, who’s your guy at 5?

He was having a great season until August came around

“On paper”, last year’s roster heading into the season looks like the ‘27 Yankees compared to this year’s team.

Given the likely attendance figures the next few years, don’t get your hopes up about spending of any significance.
