While debating if wins means a starting pitcher is better than another
-
You’re going to love seeing Kimbrel in the 8th inning then
-
A guy who can’t throw strikes, can’t hold runners and shows no consistency in his stuff….he’s all yours
-
When you look at what Tampa got for Glasnow, while also unloading Margot’s salary, a lot of these proposed packages are underwhelming. Just move on from the Orioles at this point.
-
Duquette is same person who proposed Cease for Dominguez, Hampton, Warren and one more. If he says it’s a good package offered, that’s interesting.
-
No one knows if the price is sky high. If they’re asking for Jones or Hampton, that tells me they’re not being unrealistic.
-
That doesn’t even include losing Bautista for the season. That’s their biggest loss by far.
-
He’s not a base stealer at all. He would be a very disappointing headliner. He can be a solid Major Leaguer, but you can also get someone like that via free agency for fairly cheap.
-
My god, I hate this thread. I’ve grown to wish every Orioles prospect flops.
-
It’s very possible Elias isn’t willing to deal any of their top 5 guys. Cowser and Kjerstad might mean even more to them than we would think due to their outfield FA situation the next few years.
-
Bob also said Mets aren’t interested in Cease
-
No, I said Busch and someone like Sheehan or Stone and another prospect instead of settling for a lesser package from the Orioles, if they refuse to give up their guys.
-
I’ve said all along I want the best players, regardless of position or righty/lefty. They have so many holes, I don’t think anyone is actually blocked (since we don’t know where Montgomery will play).
-
It would frustrate me that Getz couldn’t make a deal with the Dodgers for Busch, a pitcher and another prospect.
-
NBB said he’s not coming back no matter what
-
He said “I’m tired of being treated like a slave” in Spanish

Jerry’s franchise gets embarrassed again
-
Well, he is a statue already on the field
-
Last year at this time, people on here would have said hell no to trading Colas.
-
That won’t go well (as a starter)
-
Also, FWIW, I’ve flip flopped and want the Sox to hold on to Cease if the offers aren’t awesome. This team needs a miracle to improve the talent level, so Cease pitching like his amazing run during 2022 leading up to the 24 deadline might be the best way to acquire impact talent.
-
Why doesn’t this apply to Ortiz then, as all I see on your board is how valuable he is, as illustrated by his ranking? I totally agree that rankings don’t mean anything, as I previously said every GM in baseball would take Schultz over Ortiz.
-
Yeah, teams don’t have injuries to worry about now. At the deadline, there are a lot more holes to fill due to injuries. You also have teams like the Reds and Tigers that might not know how competitive they will be that decide to push their chips in if they are contending.

Don’t forget Peraza and Pereira

For this case, it’s more the Yankees just not wanting to trade a specific guy it sounds like. Asking for a borderline top 50 guy isn’t excessive, but the Soto trade depleted their system enough to where the Yankees are being less aggressive.
