I’ve heard some speculation they’re going to let Alonso go (probably trade him at the deadline if they’re out of it) and go all out for Soto.

It would be shocking to me to see Stearns do that, especially since it seems the Mets aren’t going to spend big this offseason.

I can’t state this enough….other teams know the Sox culture and defense was garbage. It’s a big reason we saw Lynn and Giolito bring back better than expected packages.

Also tells you that the Yanks and Orioles, at a minimum, are willing to part with big names if they’re still interested.

The Dodgers absolutely have a big move left, if not 2-3 moves. Plenty of near-ready prospects they can give up. They’re a team that has always made sense for Cease, as reliability is something they lack for this year’s rotation.

It’s more that they’d want a stronger pitcher to go and use another pitching piece (Miller) to get offensive help like Morel or Nolan Gorman.

Lots of articles out there that Yankees are interested in Snell. Jack Curry, who is as good as it gets with Yankees info, didn’t mention Cease from what I can see.
