Wish they would have just kept Kopech if his value was so little, as even though he’s a pain in the butt, maybe he would have had a strong start to next season as the closer and then you get more for him at the deadline.
I just don’t get how they scouted him and thought “we need this guy, he’s a great fit for our home park”. One thing that is totally evident is Getz doesn’t put an emphasis on “loud tools”….wonder why
Basically over the last year, they’ve traded the following without getting someone that you can confidently say will be at least an average major leaguer:
Cease, Giolito, Lopez, Lynn, Kelly, Bummer, Burger, Santos, Mena, Cease, Fedde, Kopech, Pham, Eloy
Won’t be a wave if they can’t develop guys. Also, Orioles prospects are all hitters, and the Sox look to be pitching heavy. I like Hagen Smith, but I really wish Cags was the pick.
Can’t confirm anything, just that the idea of Benintendi being included in trade talks with Crochet was a possibility, and then seemingly confirmed by Boston radio guy. Harold and nitetrain having similar information was just another caveat.
