QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:39 AM) It seems like the Sox go for real long stretches without baserunner an awful lot lately. Maybe the toll of having to provide so much offense this season has worn on them. They're just not being consistently tough outs. -

The amazing Sox offense continues to roll. Where's Carmona when you need him? QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:37 AM) No right handed pitcher has ever beaten the great Rob Mackowiak! EVA! That, and Mack has those pictures... Mackowiak is one of my favorite players, and has been for a while. However, Ozzie has found a way to make me dislike him. -

How many times have we been no-hit thru 3 innings over the last few weeks? -

QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:32 AM) I can see Ozzie being the type that quits after a bad year (not making the playoffs). I think the only chance of him not being our manager for the next 3 years is if he says something stupid in the press again. -

To be quite honest, this feels like a game where the Angels will get 2 or 3 runs across just due to guys stealing at will against Contreras. I'm not so sure our offense has top that. -

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) Ha! They do need to find a life. His sons seem to appreciate their role on the team. Hell, it took one of his sons to step up and tell Ozzie to stop screwing around and let Jenks start the 9th. -

QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:28 AM) I really hope they snap out of it. But it must be said that this is starting alot like alot of games for the last month+, it has that 2run game smell to it.. just sayin, I still think this team has a run in em still, but strangely its the hitting thats not staying hot for multiple games. Our catalyst sets the tone. Can we just play Pods against Cleveland, and no one else? Pods owes about a million dollars a year to the right arm of VMartinez. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) Am I the only one who thinks that the way things are going right now, if nothing else the thought certainly has crossed his mind? Yes, I think he'll be the type of guy who's year-to-year on his thought process. Even in the last few days, he's said things like "if I'm still here". If we miss the playoffs, maybe it will humble him. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) Ozzie needs to say something to keep him on the front page. Can't he just threaten to quit again? -

Lackey is the type of guy who can flirt with a no-hitter. I'm not saying....I'm just saying. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:21 AM) That was Ozzie's point, and I agree with both of you. I just didn't see the need for him to state that. -

Yeah, Contreras seemed to have a better arm angle on his pitches in that first inning. -

I don't know if people saw this, but did you hear who Ozzie described today as not being a "good baseball player"? -

I pray that this team can make the playoffs. However, it's sort of a therapeutic feeling know that the regular season is over in 3 weeks. I'll be extremely disappointed if we don't make the playoffs, but the more things remain the same, the more it seems like a longshot at this time with our brutal schedule coming up. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:12 AM) Any good posters in the gamethread tonight? Be careful, you never know who might be lurking to cherry-pick your comments. -

Swing the bat Pods! At least we have less than 3 weeks of his ass left in this season. QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 02:09 AM) Yeah Podsenik Backwards K, just they way to start out this west coast road trip. Such a terrible, terrible vibe about this team right now. -

Well, Anderson isn't playing. However, it's not Sweeney in CF. Mackowiak is playing CF tonight and batting 8th. You're an idiot Ozzie! -
I'm thrilled that Thursday is an off day.

I get quite the laugh out of this comment by Ozzie about Frank Thomas "He's not a good ballplayer, but he's a great hitter". Please just stfu Ozzie, and continue to handle your personnel poorly.

QUOTE(Drew @ Sep 11, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) If Podsednik is leading off and Anderson isn't in, I'm going to ask for my money back. I'll pretty much guarantee that Pods is leading off, and Sweeney is playing in CF. With how crappy Anderson has looked recently, I can't say that I blame Ozzie. -
We're going to be trading one of our starters this offseason. I think Garcia is the most likely candidate to be traded. We need to create some payroll flexibility this offseason in order to upgrade at other positions.

QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 09:14 PM) Thome pre-ASB RISP BA: .388 Thome post-ASB RISP BA: .242 and just for perspective... Uribe 2006 RISP BA: .287 Stats to ponder. I'm sure everyone has their own aggrivating stats. This one is my personal irk. Santo....is this .242 incorrect?
