  1. Frank Thomas is on an absolute tear. It would be nice if he cools off before we face him next weekend.
  2. For as sharp as Vazquez looked in the first inning, he seems to be off this inning. His ball keeps tailing awy from him. MERCY!
  3. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 06:24 PM) fathom whats your take on iguchi lately? Needs to be traded.
  4. Thanks the baseball gods these guys continue to not get the bunt down.
  5. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) OUR 6TH LEADOFF HIT IN THE SECOND HALF!!! actually that's wrong. Pods has 5. That was Pablo's second. First time our leadoff hitter reached since the first game against Tampa, if my memory is correct. IGUCHI!! His approach at the plate is awesome right now.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:33 AM) I should add, right now I'm pulling for another Twins win cause I think our best chance is both the Twins and Sox passing the Tigers in the division with both teams making the playoffs. Liriano had a good game tonight, so he'll be back this week.
  7. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:32 AM) I'm not too worried about the fact that Cleveland made it close. For the most part, they did it off of guys who won't be on the post-season roster. I'm a little befuddled as to why McCarthy doesn't trust his fastball a little more. He always goes back to his changeup to righties, and it tends to tail back towards the middle of the plate. I tend to believe that once he is starting again, he'll be able to get the 'feel' for his changeup in his second, third innings of his starts. His fastball as a reliever, OTOH, has been great -- lots of swings and misses (other than the Pena walkoff). McCarthy's curve has been real poor basically all season. You can tell he has no rhythm with that pitch. He needs to trust his fastball more like you said, and keep it up in the zone. Then, he can throw the changeup lower in the zone.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:31 AM) Damn, why do they have to make me work for this s***? It really is amazing how it's never easy. Oh well....a win is always better than a loss. If our guys can keep up these opposite field swings they're taking, we have a chance to put up a lot more runs than we had been.
  9. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:29 AM) I thought they were booing for taking MacDougall out. 1 pitch away from the win. Yeah, I think so too.
  10. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:26 AM) Gonnie flies out. 1 MORE Oh Jesus Ozzie It's hard to blame Ozzie, as Thornton completely blew away Choo with the fastball yesterday. I wonder if Wedge will ph for him with Boone or Peralta?
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:23 AM) Not just our organization, but almost every organization. But don't you think that after this year's struggles with Widger's hitting, they might want to make sure they have a strong offensive back-up catcher? Aaron Rowand would have misplayed that ball
  12. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:21 AM) does he have good defense and call a good game? As long as he doesn't call fastballs from Hermanson with 2 strikes. Nice pitch. All he had to do was get it over....Shoppach was looking for the walk.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:22 AM) Hell yes Yes, I've heard he's the best defensive catcher in the organization.
  14. Note to Chris Stewart: don't set-up inside for MacDougal's fastball!!!
  15. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) What did you hear? That unless you want a hitter who will struggle to hit .200 in the majors, he's probably not MLB back-up caliber.
  16. Wow...from what I've heard and seen, people who think Stewart will be our back-up catcher next year are going to be wrong. Thornton's warming up.
  17. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:10 AM) You just couldn't have predicted that inning happening.I will say Oz should have brought in either Riske or MAcdougal instead of Hermie. Ya, it's one of those cases that if you can't preserve a 9 run lead after 6 innings, then you don't deserve to win.
  18. I'd like to see MacDougal try to finish this. If you let Jenks start the inning, you have to have an extremely short leash.
  19. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) Don't say things like that man. We WILL win this game. I'm not going to lie...it's been enjoyable being on the same wave length with you tonight. It won't last long...so I thought I'd salute you before we disagree again.
  20. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:00 AM) That also means like you've said our non-relievers STINK big time. Yes they do...they're pitching with no guts or intensity.
  21. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 01:59 AM) Fathom, my stomach is not feeling well at all. It was doing perfectly fine about 15 minutes ago. Man, gotta gut another one out! I already told my fiance that if we lose this game, I'm not going out.
  22. QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 01:56 AM) Ladies and gentlemen, buckle up and get ready for another roller-coaster ride. Why can't we win any game the easy way??? We just have to make every game exciting and tight! Yep...it's amazing that you think we've had two games in the last two weeks where we were up by like 7 or 8, and the opposition ended up getting the tying run to the plate.
  23. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 01:53 AM) I kinda like to believe the rookie catcher had a part in that call and ... it wasn't a close game at the time. It wasn't a mop-up situation.
