  1. That's a brilliant idea...throw a first pitch fastball to a young player who can't touch slow stuff. Thankfully we didn't use McCarthy out of long relief. HAEGER CAN'T PITCH AT THE MLB LEVEL!
  2. We're losing 6-0 now. We really, really suck.
  3. QUOTE(cgaudin @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:32 AM) What, you expected two good games in a row? C'mon, you should know better by now. So if people wanted to give Ozzie credit for the win last night, does he get blamed tonight?
  4. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:31 AM) what a depressing second half of the season Fixed
  5. Uribe has completely mailed in this season. He used to be one of my favorite players, but he's become a serious problem.
  6. The thing that I don't get is that Cliff Lee looks TERRIBLE, and the umpire has a very small zone. How many pitches are we going to pop up because we're getting underneath the high fastball? Of course, this lineup tonight didn't have much of a chance of having a good offensive night. Nice scoop Iguchi
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:27 AM) After last year, I never thought I was going to have the feeling of the Sox being down by 4 early and really not having a shot. Once again, these guys just look dead. It's astonishing how consistently bad our starting pitching has been this season. You'd think they'd luck into a stretch of an entire week of good pitching. Instead, they can't go more than 3 games without someone have a terrible start. Our starting pitching is one of the most underachieving core group of players I can remember.
  8. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:25 AM) Bears start on sunday.......... I'm so excited that there's only 22 more leadoff, first inning outs we have to watch this season. This Indians team, with a healthy Hafner, is much better than us right now. If only Pods could really be better than Sizemore.
  9. Can we pull Buehrle now? Another 2 strike hit allowed by him. We better not extend his deal this offseason.
  10. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) Why has no one on the team sat Konerko down and asked him why he feels obligated to pull every pitch? He's the captain...and doing just a terrible job of setting the tone for this team.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) DJ with a lie. Paulie will take what they give him. Thats why he constantly pulls crap on the outer half. You can tell that other teams have that pitch locked in against him. He's turned into such a damn selfish hitter. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) Infield pop up/shoulder shrug on tap?
  12. Wow...that was obvious. PK continues his pathetic play.
  13. Infield pop up/shoulder shrug on tap?
  14. Ugh...we need to capitalize on this.
  15. This is a spot where a hit would do the trick...but our guys have been aiming for the big homer for a while now.
  16. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:17 AM) damn good atbat by Dye If I were Cleveland i'd just walk Thome and get the Konerko DP Ha...sad but true
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:10 AM) This is a guy we usually rock. But our guys are into lift and pull mode. Not only that, but Lee is getting squeezed.
  18. Lefty pitchers are really kicking our ass now.
  19. Ok...still in this game! Get us started Pablo.
  20. 2 out situation with RISP against someone that kills Buehrle. This is a huge batter in this game.
  21. Anyone know what Sandy's CERA is this season with the Sox?
  22. This game's close to getting out of hand. Ozuna needs to be playing closer. We need to pull him, before he becomes ANOTHER starter who gives up 5 runs in a game.
  23. QUOTE(G&T @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:00 AM) BA is back in his slump. I think the league has adjusted back to him. He doesn't have a lot of authority in his swings anymore.
  24. QUOTE(G&T @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:57 AM) Is Fields even up here, or is he still in Charlotte? I thought he was staying for the playoffs. He is still in Charlotte, but if Crede's going to miss a few days due to his back, he should be up with the big team. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) when u think about it though, with the exception of thome and gooch, the others arent really that good of hitters overall anyways. If it's possible, Brian Anderson has become an overrated .230 hitter. I'm still optimistic he'll turn into a good hitter, but he's hitting a very soft .230 this season.
