  1. QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) Delmon Young, nice work. His brother got released by the Tigers today. Ex-Sox players are having very strong years, as Frank, Valentin, Norton, and Durham have looked very strong this season.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:22 AM) Did I hear the Mets have never had a no hitter? I'm pretty sure that's true. A more phenomenal stat is that the Bucs have never had a kickoff return for a TD.
  3. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) Rather quiet when we play well... I was going to say that even though Sweeney has no hits, he looks pretty solid at the plate. I thought he hit his last pitch better, but it only went like 340 feet. I really hope he got it off the end of the back like Hawk stated.
  4. QUOTE(jenksd @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) That would have been the most brutal way ever to lose a no-hitter. They would have found a way to give him an error.
  5. QUOTE(sin city sox fan @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) A double play Thanks Captain Obvious. Was it something special that made it "rule"?
  6. QUOTE(jenksd @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) for those watching the marlins game, that double play ruled What happened?
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) With the way the 2nd half has gone, this game is so far from over, its almost scary. No kidding
  8. Here's where it would be nice to add a few runs against the middle relief. We've got ourselves in trouble this year when we jump ahead, but then get shut down by long relievers, and the opposition jumps back into the game.
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:05 AM) It's just depressing to look and see we are winning solidly, but with Minny also winning...we gain nothing. Silva's on the mound...there's still a chance. Don't forget that the Twins/Tigers are guaranteed at least 2 losses this wknd.
  10. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 12:05 AM) God I hate watching Thome run. Scares the hell out of me. Who's slower, him or PK?
  11. QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) is Bobby back with the team tonight? Yes, but Ozzie won't use him.
  12. He got the 0-2 hanger, and put a much better swing on it. We've hit 6 straight balls right on the button. Lets get two more runs in.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Ok, but I am not going to put Gload out there. ANd I am not putting Mackowiak out there full time either. Why can't Gload be an everyday LF, when the alternative has been Pods?
  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) Different teams respond to different tactics. This year's Sox is different then last year's. I don't understand why that's not being talked about either. I've been saying for a while that Ozzie doesn't know how to manager this current personnel, and I don't mean just on the field.
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) Completely agree 15000000%. For whatever reason, he's lost that fire. Maybe it's too many commercials.. maybe too many tv specials.. I dunno, but it's something and it sucks. You've hinted at the possibility that there are some in the clubhouse that are sick of his attitude. Do you still think this is a legitimate assessment of the environment surrounding the team?
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) Why cant we just pick up Freel and end any debate. Freel's only a good outfielder because he likes to dive close to the white lines.
  17. QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) The problem is, your idea of "putting the team in the best position to win" is usually flawed. Yep, how dare I want our best defense on the field all at once or our best hitter off the bench at the plate in a situation where we can do some damage. I guess I'll just sit back and not "panic". Sure, there's times when things I suggest are a little too proactive (ie: ph for AJP in the top of the 9th on Monday). However, I think my suggestions are pretty simple for the most part. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 07:44 PM) I put this in the catch anything thread, but... Tonight Sweeney is in CF batting leadoff Pods is in LF batting 8th Per the Score Cool, it's worth the shot. I like this move, as maybe it will provide a spark and allow Pods to relax.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) I don't believe there was anyone better. That was the problem. No one better than a CF who can't judge a fly ball to save his life? Darren Lewis just rolled over in his rocking chair hearing that.
