Not that i can remember. As much as i like to see Radke possibly hurt for the TWins, he was looking very hittable tonite. I hope that 2nd inning doesn't come back to haunt us
I would have much rather Radke stay in this game.
QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:21 AM)
I didn't see it, but I don't remember Tyner having a decent arm, and Gload has pretty good speed. I'd have probably sent him too, but thats without knowing where the ball/runner was when it happened.
Tyner has a lot of assists recently though, as he does a great job of getting rid of the ball quickly. With two outs, it's the right call. But with one out and Radke having NOTHING on the mound, I thought it was a brutal call.
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:19 AM)
2nd and 3rd, 1 out, base hit by Mack to LF, 1 run scores, Cora sends Gload from 2nd, thrown out at home, Podsednik out, inning over.
It was a rocket, one hop single to a charging Tyner in LF.
QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:15 AM)
Nice to have a base coach ruin the momentum of an ass kicking start.
If we lose ... it's all on Joey.
You hate to blame coaches for things, so you must really feel strong about this.
QUOTE(Chopper2Hopper @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:16 AM)
Do the Sox ever even pitch out? I never see it.
GIDP!!!!!!!!!
Ozzie said it's not his job to call pitch outs.
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:12 AM)
Hmmm, that's early even for him.
Absolutely no chance to stop that.
If the radar is correct, his velocity is way down tonight also. He doesn't have any pop on his fastball.
QUOTE(Chopper2Hopper @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:07 AM)
Pods had a sac fly right there. Is there any possible way we could find out just how many of our runners have been thrown out at home this year? It has to be somewhere in the realm of 200.
It's astonishing the difference between guys we get thrown out vs guys we throw out.
I just want to know what Cora is thinking? Tyner has a lot of assists recently, as he has an accurate arm and does a great job of releasing the ball quickly. With one out and a non-strike out pitcher on the mound, that's simply an awful decision by Cora. I don't even think that Gload was running at the crack of the bat, as he had to make sure it wasn't caught.
QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:06 AM)
Just when everything is going right, somebody f***s up
I so wish we could get rid of the guys responsible for the last two outs of that inning.
QUOTE(beautox @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 01:02 AM)
Man Joe Crede is Awesome.
It's gotten to the point where the Sox HAVE to re-sign him to a long-term deal. DJ making a great point about how Crede's swing is not as robotic as it was when he first came up. I'm seeing the same growth from Brian Anderson.
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:56 AM)
Fixed that for you.
The funny thing is that I said that before I knew Morneau has some massive slugging numbers vs Vazquez in his career.
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:55 AM)
K, let's bring in BA for defense.
You're sounding like me now. Whenever we get the lead for Garcia early in the game, I'm hoping we bring in the bullpen in the 1st inning.
QUOTE(Chopper2Hopper @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:54 AM)
Boy if Javy gives this lead right back here in the 2nd, I'm going to scream and possibly break something I'll later regret.
Vazquez vs Morneau does have the potential for a concourse shot.
