  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) We don't have to, Ozzie just decides that Cy Young isn't good enough to pitch long relief. Well, if he's really had shoulder issues recently, we can't have him warming up more than 2 or 3 times a week.
  2. AJP seems to have really lost his swagger. I looked up his stats, and I couldn't believe he's still just about .300.
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 12:00 AM) We have NO USE for another pitcher. And nice pot shot by Hawk..."flyball into center field, SHOULD be a can of corn". Why is Mack out there ever?? We really could use another reliever. We shouldn't be having to use MacDougal for more than one inning when we're down 4 runs, etc.
  4. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) Have you seen his numbers down at Charlotte? He deserves another shot. No he doesn't. Not yet...he needs another year of seasoning. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) Willie Harris hit .400 at Charlotte. Big deal With a lot of power
  5. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) Neal Cotts says hello. Yep....we're not going to call up Fields to be a DH.
  6. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) why DH Paulie? he's a much better 1st baseman then Gload, and if it is to protect him, Paulie is not injury prone or getting old... To give PK some rest.
  7. Was PK standing on the base? I understand how he was out, but he must have not been running hard to be out by that far.
  8. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) Cora LEARNED ??? The problme is he put his hands up so late, and that's what has lead to our guys at 1B getting into a run-down.
  9. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) Josh Fields, your plane is boarding. It would be a pitcher called up. Gload will play 1B, and PK will DH.
  10. Nice hit by Thome! Unfortunately, the hop cost us a run. Get these runs in PK.
  11. I wish once this season that Guillen showed the guts that Leyland just did by pulling his starter this early when he could tell he had nothing.
  12. Nothing is worse than having to listen to Garcia pitch on the radio. I'm absolutely thrilled that Ozzie continues to put our worst defensive CF on the field whenever Garcia pitches.
  13. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) I'll probably regret this, but... I disagree. I think its an excellent idea. He'd be better defensively, have similar speed, way better offensively... I see no downside. Enlighten me. I'm 100 pct sure it was sarcasm. FREE GLOAD!
  14. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Last year and this year are too hard to compare. We had a 15 game lead last year. This year, were behind. When the Sox were struggling last year, it didn't look like it was due to lack of effort, but rather that they were playing not to lose. Recently, we haven't even been playing not to lose....you need to at least put some type of effort into that. The entire team's approach, besides Crede, was disgraceful last night. Something else I just thought of is that with this team having almost everyone already locked up for next year, we don't have anyone in a "salary drive" and really busting their ass every night.
  15. QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 04:24 AM) I can't see Oz lasting here much longer. He loves the Sox too much and is too passionate. He can't stand the criticism. He'll be quiet the next 20 years managing the Cardinals or Braves or Blue Jays. Much of the criticism Ozzie has received in the press is due to his big mouth. I wonder who the coach was that he told to "shut up" tonight before he got ejected?
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 02:41 AM) BA has been starting a lot more recently (nearly every day), and since KW, not Ozzie, made the decision to trade for Vazquez (leaving BMac out of the rotation), I don't think that BMac's ethnicity has anything to do with it. Anderson is still getting way too many days off, all things considered.
  17. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 02:09 AM) I'll be at the dentist, hopefully the office isn't too long there. I suppose it helps that I'm in Jersey, but still People have teeth in Jersey?
  18. There's going to be a long line at the doctor's office tomorrow. Lots of sprained ankles from people jumping off the bandwagon (not in this thread, but it's definitely happening with some Sox fans).
  19. QUOTE(tony72 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 01:59 AM) I am not saying every time pull the guy...just once - maybe the message would get through that - oh, it doesn't matter if you give up 7 or 8 runs..you stay until the 7th so we can rest the bullpen..maybe they might toughen up a little and not give up a ton of runs..I am not being reactionary..I know we are going to lose games like every team...I just think the leash is way too long on our starters. You want to win that game that day..not be worrying..well gotta rest so and so for the next game, series, etc. The focus should be on that game that day. I admit, it probably wouldn't work...but arent' you tired of seeing the same thing over and over again from our starters? Aren't we leaving them in the game for a long time, no matter how good or bad they're doing? I'd rather see Ozzie pull them after 5 bad innings then after 7 bad innings.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 01:57 AM) Well the bunny is doing his best hawk impersonation tonight Its the umpires fault. We didn't score a run tonight. Outside of one pitch, there were no real terrible calls for Rogers either. Anyone blaming the umpires for the Sox losing tonight is wrong.
