  1. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) I think Kenny has done a great job overall as White Sox GM, however, if this teams fails to reach the playoffs it's all on his shoulders. We didn't make it in '01-'04 but we didn't have a $100 M budget at that time either. You pour this much money into the team, and especially this rotation, you expect something more than a turd. Plus he could have very easily improved the team at the deadline (at least by trading away one of the underachievers). KW put a winning roster on the field. The starting pitchers haven't performed, and there are three members of our coaching staff that have sucked this year. However, our team doesn't deserve to make the postseason if every single starting pitcher underachieves.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) wow, Rogers has retired 10 in a row. His stuff is not anywhere near that good tonight, the Sox are just an absolute joke at the plate right now. I'm starting to see it in their body language. This 3 run lead seems more like a 5-7 run lead right now The whole terrible body language vibe started with the very first batter in that Twins series. Pods looked like he had his eyes closed at the plate against Bonser, and the Twins immediately had all the momentum. I just want to know when these guys are going to start playing like their season depends on the outcome of that particular game?
  3. QUOTE(GOD @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 12:01 AM) The thing that is really bugging me is this team has given up down only 3 runs in the 4th inning. It's sad I'm starting to highly doubt us making the playoffs. KW has ruined this team. KW has ruined this team? Oh boy, I can't wait to hear your reasoning for saying this.
  4. Maybe one of these days, KW will acquire someone that can help our offense against LHP?
  5. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) Anyone else wondering if this run of bad play might just continue til the end of the season? It's lasted the entire 2nd half of the season...and this starting pitching is showing signs of getting worse, not better.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) Because you can't throw inside at 85, as Freddy has found out this year. The ball is going to be hit very far if you do. Buehrle at least cuts his fastball, so he might be able to jam a hitter with his fastball.
  7. Good grief, stop trying to pull that same f***ing pitch!
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) Nick Markakis with 2 homers tonight, Roberts with won. 3-1 O's. As long as we don't lose any ground it's a decent day. You might be joking, but for me, that's the 100 pct truth.
  9. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:55 PM) Will the Sox end the season with a starting pitcher having an ERA under 4.30 this year? Garland?
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) This team really gives me a nice warm feeling. Brightens my mood a lot. It just baffles me how little enthusiasm and energy they have out there.
  11. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) Since the Sox have to pay Buehrle his salary for this season regardless, I thank they should use him strictly as a batting practice pitcher. He's good at that. Don't the Cubs need a lefty batting practice pitcher?
  12. The exciting news is that Buehrle might see his ERA go over 5 after today.
  13. Meatball after meatball by Buehrle. Does Buehrle ever throw an inside fastball to start an AB anymore?
  14. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:45 PM) corpse f'n baseball Our offense has completely disappeared. Not only are we not scoring, but they're having some terrible at-bats.
  15. I'm eagerly anticipating SSI's pull baseball post tonight.
  16. Anderson is making far too many first pitch outs, especially leading off the inning.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:40 PM) Point being? He took an outside pitch and hit it far enough to be a HR at most any park. Just that he's hit about 6 balls in the last 3 weeks to the warning track. We've been discussing this in these threads, and we've talked about whether or not he's tired. Please don't take it as me complaining about that out. It was one of the best swings we've had against Rogers in years.
  18. This series has a TERRIBLE feel. The Tigers are pumped up, their fans are very into these games, and we have guys blowing bubbles after they hit a grounder.
  19. Iassogna is a terrible umpire, and you won't find many guys with a worse reputation among MLB.
  20. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) Funny thing is with these Tiger fans, you couldn't get a person to admit they were a Tiger fan last season... Who cares? It's not like we don't have our fair share of bandwagoners also. Well done Oz!
  21. Joe Crede = King of Warning Track Power
  22. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Should I blame Sandy for "putting the glove in the wrong spot"? Maybe if our starting pitchers didn't have to nibble with every batter they face, we wouldn't have to rely on the umpire to give us a couple of inches off the corner.
  23. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:30 PM) Respectable damage control, but 1st inning runs blow...take you out of the game. When's the last time we scored more than one run in the first inning?
  24. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) another strike that wasn't called. Sandy sets up too far off the plate. It's been happening in every game since he's been here. Pitchers are hitting the glove, but he's too far off to start with.
