  1. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) Why do our LFs stand on the warning track regardless of who is batting? That's one of those questions which hopefully will be resolved in the offseason.
  2. That's just a great start. That ball landed like a foot in front of Ozuna....why didn't he dive?
  3. Santana always does a great job of keeping PK off-balanced. PK might as well just sit on the changeup, and if Santana throws him 3 straight fastballs, sit down.
  4. Thome just missed that....and terrible camera work by Comcast. Good base running by Iguchi.
  5. So far, this umpire has a very tight zone.
  6. Again though, he makes some comments that just don't need to be made. There's no reason to make fun of Mulder, who was injured, the way he did. Someone might want to remind Ozzie that he wasn't a HOF SS.
  7. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Check out the espn.com story plus the bit in Buster Olney's blog about Tom Glavine's potential bloodclot that may end his career and season. So close to 300 wins it would be a huge shame. Plus it would have been a lot of fun to see him back in the October spotlight again. Glavine is a true joy to watch pitch as he uses know-how, experience, and deception to confound hitters when his stuff would suggest otherwise. It'd be terribly unfortunate if his HOF career is over now KW....get on the phone with the Mets! Best wishes to Glavine though.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 05:11 AM) I'd take him in left. And I've always been one of his lesser fans. I agree with this, and I've been someone who's sick of hearing how much we miss him.
  9. YES SIR! Great win. It's amazing how many wins we've gotten lately due in large part to bad defense by the opposition. It's great to win like that when your offense is slumping.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:39 AM) 0-2 on Morneau, go up in the zone now, or very slow low. I get nervous when he starts to miss with that hook. Great play by Crede!
  11. Ugh...last time he had a HBP, he blew the save.
  12. QUOTE(PA32R @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:37 AM) So there ya go. Andereson in CF, Jenks on the mound. Soxtalk board would have voted that way. Thanks
  13. Hopefully Ozzie removes Mackowiak and puts Anderson in CF.
  14. Very nice offspeed pitch on the 1-2 pitch. Ozzie shouldn't mess around in the 9th, and just bring in Jenks. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:25 AM) yeah hopefully he brings his C game so we can get 4 hits. This made me laugh...and I don't think it was in a good way.
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) Yes, a lot less it seems. Oh man, hits the ump. Which, as you know, I constantly whine about how much damage is done against that pitch. Great game Jon!
  16. We caught a break there. Thornton's coming in to face Punto.
  17. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:19 AM) Garland is making the Twins break their bats and he looks strong ... good sign for down the stretch. I wonder if Cooper is cutting back on their side sessions, this is the time of year he usually does that. I'm very happy that he's throwing less changeups tonight.
  18. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:17 AM) thome had crossed 3rd when the sign changed Well, don't even get me started on Joey Cora.
  19. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) Yes, the first base coach needs to holler at the guy rounding first to hold ... or communicate whatever is going on with the play. Luckily it worked out for the Sox. Hawk/DJ are blaming it on Cora putting up the "stay" sign at 3rd base too late. It wouldn't surprise me that Baines isn't communicating very well at 1st base with these guys. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:15 AM) im still not sure. fathom is talking about the article in the trib, but it really sounded like they were talking about something entirely seperate, and then mentioning the article in passing as a source for the verbal spat. maybe im wrong here though. I don't think anything happened. The whole thing has been overblown.
  20. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 20, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) Twins announcers saying Sandy and AJ fought yesterday No. There's an article about it up on chicagosports
  21. That's at least the 5th time this year where we actually held the runner at 3rd, but the runner on 1st kept running. There has got to be better communication than that.
  22. No matter who the Twins have in the bullpen, we can never score on them. They could have Jim Parque out there, and he'd mess us up.
