  1. QUOTE(atrain081 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:32 AM) how can you possibly defend ozzie's managing this second half of the season? If anyone can do it, we know who it is.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) This sounds like last year all over again. I remember the Ozzie threads like they were just yesterday. Then when the season was over, I remember another thread that you started. How'd that go again...? Do you lurk around this thread just to come in and try to start a fight with people who don't think this is the greatest team in history?
  3. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:29 AM) He got a weak little pop up. Happened exactly as they wanted. Unfortunately it just found a hole. Cuddyer coudl have done the exact same thing. At least you wouldn't have let the best player in baseball beat you. Don't give me that blooper bulls***. My number 1 rule for a manager is to put your team in the best position to succeed. Ozzie couldn't have managed worse in the last 2 innings.
  4. Ha...11 out of the last 17 lefties to face Cotts have a hit. I honestly think this is the worst managed game I've ever seen....and that's hard to do with Ozzie.
  5. I said it earlier in this thread...it will be a long wknd if Ozzie keeps letting Morneau beat us. He's the best player in baseball right now.
  6. I hope someone in the media questions Ozzie after the game, and he uses a racial/ethnic slur and never manages another Sox game.
  7. Good job Ozzie! We don't deserve to make the playoffs.
  8. QUOTE(atrain081 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:25 AM) they were just talking about walking grudz to get to sweeny in the royals series, but that made so much more sense than this That was a no-brainer move. This is a no brain move.
  9. Wow...Cotts with one hanger he's lucky to have back.
  10. Wait...we're walking Cuddyer to get to Morneau? Even if we get Morneau out, Ozzie should be fired immediately. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:23 AM) They are walking someone to get to Mourneau? If we're not going to score again tonight, I hope Morneau homers here.
  11. Not even our lefty can hold on the runner. Big out here Neal!
  12. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:22 AM) Cliff was hurt. What's Neal's excuse? I don't buy that he's seriously injured.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:20 AM) I am not really even that upset right now. My old man said it after the 2nd game of the Royal series, and I think im going to follow his advice. With the way this team has been all this season(up and down play) you just cant get your hopes up anymore. For a fan, this season really lives up to "Just take one game at a time" If they win, they win, great. Im a happy fan. If they lose, they lose. Maybe its not meant to be. I really hate being like that, because I wasnt at all last season, but they make it SOOO hard to keep faith going into a new series. You know I can't be as laid back as you. I just hate that this team doesn't show any urgency for a huge series like this. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:20 AM) chris young starting in CF for ARI tonight. I hope he turns out awesome in order to disgrace Mr. 100.
  14. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) does anyone better epitomize the contrast between this year's team and last year's than Neal Cotts? Sure, Cliff Politte. At least Cotts has a chance in his career to prove 2005 wasn't a fluke.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:18 AM) Has anyone else noticed Ozzie's ridiculous tendency to just let games ride when we are down by 1 run? YES!!!!! It's like he doesn't care if the other team gets an insurance run. It's pathetic managing, plain and simple. So far tonight, this game has been an illustration of all that ills the Sox (besides the worst outfield defense in baseball).
  16. Soriano is 4-6 with a homer. McCarthy better turn out to be a stud.
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) I love you guys. Ya, if you're going to b**** and whine, at least have it be realistic.
  18. This is the spot of the game where our starter allows 2 base runners, and they go from going 6-4 to 6.1-6.
  19. QUOTE(Winning Ugly @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:15 AM) Once again Thome shows why he is one of our worst clutch hitters. Get Gload in there after the 7th inning when we need that big hit out of the 3 spot. Um, no
  20. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:14 AM) Gardy managing a hell of a game, Ozzie not. No timely hitting, no starting pitching. f*** Where are all of Ozzie's supporters these days on this site?
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:13 AM) Despite the stats, I just can't buy that Thome is clutch. I don't think he is either. From the 7th inning on, I can only think of a few times he's delivered this season.
  22. Good play by Bartlett. We're in a lot of trouble. Gardenhire sure does put his bullpen in a great position to succeed.
  23. Best pitch he'll get this entire sequence. FWIW, Thome destroys the Twins.
  24. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 19, 2006 -> 02:09 AM) It would be nice if Pods was standing on 3rd. He has a hard time picking the ball up. On Konerko's double yesterday in which Pods scored, he did pull up at second for some reason before taking off again. He always seems to slow down when getting close to a base. It's very peculiar...he's definitely not a smooth runner.
