  1. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:35 AM) well that ross gload grand slam did lead to improved play So did facing terrible pitching. We played terrible that entire Orioles series....we were lucky to win 2 games.
  2. I'm sure happy we used MacDougal for those 2/3 of an inning, when we were going to bring BMac in anyways.
  3. This team reminds me of the 2002-2004 White Sox in so many ways. If there was ever a time to bring out the terms tinkering and corpseball, it was tonight.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:29 AM) Even if such a miraculous event would occur, I've learned this season not to select individual moments to propel ourselves into a "rhythm." Momentum is just a underachieving start away from being wiped away. When's the last time we had 17 worse innings than this?
  5. F. Carmona hasn't helped us very much this year, has he?
  6. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) Is it just me, or has Neal Cotts been the most dissapointing one of our pitchers (outside of the starters of course) this year? He was the one guy -- along with Jenks -- that I felt really good about this year out of our bullpen. The most disappointing pitcher is quite the accomplishment on this team.
  7. MacDougal's up? I'd rather he only pitch in close games. And it's official! All three of our outfielders have messed up tonight.
  8. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:12 AM) It doesnt get much worse than this. We better f uckin win tomorrow It's a good thing I can't watch tomorrow's game. If we lose that, we're in a ton of trouble.
  9. Gotta love how the Twins 8 and 9 hitters are both 3-3. Bartlett is batting .366.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:07 AM) I just tuned in, 7-0 are you kidding me??!! At least it was over in a hurry.
  11. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) Tigers lose. That makes tonight's debacle hurt double. The last thing I want to see happen is head to Minnesota tied for the WC.
  12. Gardenhire pulls Silva in a 2-2 game to start the 6th inning. Quite the concept. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:56 AM) Did anyone hear Joey Cora today on the radio. He had no clue what he was saying. You could tell that B & B were biting their tongues having to hold back from calling him an idiot.
  13. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) No, it knuckled on him1!!!! As if that never occurs against other centerfielders. I suppose it's just Mackowiaks luck the mother of all flyballs finds him. When a ball knuckles on you in the outfield, it usually goes down, and doesn't sail on you.
  14. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) With the way our starters have been the last month or so, i thought it might be a good idea to limit these guys to 100 pitches or less. But then again, W's for the pitcher count more than W's for the team, right Oz? It's just a point that hasn't been brought up much this year in the media, but it seems like it would help our pitchers. We keep having these guys throw 110 pitches every night, every 5th game. With their workloads from last year, fatigue should be expected.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:51 AM) And mackowiak takes a bad route, and its a double. Anderson strolls back and makes that catch. He made a few of those over the last few games the same way. Keep putting the corner OF in center ozzie. It's just amazing that Ozzie continues to put him out in CF. It's inexcusable by KW to not have brought in a back-up outfielder. Between that and the Vazquez groundhog day 6th innings, there's been a lot of frustration. On the other hand, Dye's consistency has been amazing also.
  16. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:50 AM) Could Pods have realistically scored on Paul's double? We've had more guys thrown at home this year than I can ever remember in my 16 years of being a Sox fan. That's the thing...we can't seem to score from first on a double or from second on a single. Meanwhile, teams are running AT WILL against us in those situations.
  17. QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:48 AM) you're just not looking at the positives Here's a positive...Contreras has a great forkball tonight. It's just too bad AJP forgot about that pitch in the 3rd inning.
  18. Contreras is still in the game? Maybe these guys wouldn't be so fatigued if we found a way to not make them throw 100+ pitches every game. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:48 AM) Crede and AJ need to take tomorrow off. Stick Cintron at 3rd and Alomar behind the dish tomorrow Crede demolished Odalis last time we played KC. We need to play our normal lineup with Sandy behind the plate.
  19. Well...that was a perfect example of what's wrong with this team. Our speed guy can't score from first with 2 outs on a double. Meanwhile, some of our other hitters look physically and mentall fatigued.
  20. QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:43 AM) I was referring to the way he played the game. His intensity & desire - he is lacking in many areas (so-so average, poor obp, not much power) but he brings great intangibles - which could be an asset to this team. So to be more clear - I feel we need more desire & intensity, not AROW. But if I give you more to b**** about (as if you need it), then that's fine by me. It just bugs me how people think Thome is this so-so clubhouse guy, but Rowand was the king of the clubhouse. Maybe more people should review the player surveys that say how Thome is one of the 3 best clubhouse guys in all of baseball.
