  1. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:39 AM) Last year, Podsednik is sitting at second base right now. Pods and Freddy must train together in the offseason. Another home run swing
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:36 AM) We take 2 out of 3 against the Yanks. Fight like animals. We take 3 out of 3 against the Tigers, things looking up. Then we rock Redman, and then our offense goes into the s***ter. Because they are into pull and lift mode. Man do I appreciate 2005 more and more.
  3. QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:34 AM) I think this team needs leadership right now - from Ozzie, Paulie, Thome, AJ or anyone. Someone needs to take charge. As much as I love Thome, we need a grinder like AROW at times like these (I still like the trade, I'm just saying we need the desire he brought everyday). I was really hoping we could lose a game without hearing how much Rowand would have helped us. In 20 years, he might be the most overrated player in Chicago history.
  4. Is it possible that we're playing worse as the game goes on? I hope Ozzie knows Mackowiak's history of being extremely streaky. He went from being red hot to being 1 for his last 13. We really, really, really would benefit by trading for another outfielder.
  5. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:31 AM) He's only pitched like 30 innings this year. Still, IT'S JASON GRILLI!
  6. These fans are definitely fiesty. I like to hear the frustration.
  7. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:28 AM) A pitcher that has been released by the pitching starved Phillies is 3 hitting our team. We let crappy Runnynose Hernadez and his 8 ERA own us last night. Now we are getting shut down by this guy. Start your f***ing A team Ozzie. Stop with this b team s***. Will we score more than 5 runs all weekend?
  8. QUOTE(Wedge @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:26 AM) What happens when Sandy plays 3 subs the same game? I could care less about the results of our Spring Training games.
  9. I just had a sickening feeling seeing that Jason Grilli has a better ERA than any of our starters this year.
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:24 AM) He should drill himself, and then take turns drilling our own lifeless team. We are our own worst enemy. You know my dream scenario, if we don't make the playoffs, is for Ozzie to quit, Cora not brought back, Pods traded to the Frontier League and Vazquez/Garcia are shown the door. Make Sandy our manager, move McCarthy into the rotation, and add a little speed to this team.
  11. That was intentional by Contreras. He was trying to drill him.
  12. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:20 AM) Just sat down and saw this score and was sure it was a mistake. Is Contreras really that bad tonight? Yes, he's thrown way too many pitches over the heart of the plate. Who knows if the 3rd inning would have been different if either Pods or Cintron catch a routine shallow pop fly. We're a terribly coached team.
  13. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:15 AM) and Joe JUST misses a HR. UGH It doesn't seem like we're hitting a lot of homers now. Warning track power is definitely a symptom from previous slumps around this time of the year.
  14. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) I'm not trying to defend Jose. He was bad. But the Royals can swing the bats. They've got to be 1 or 2 in runs scored since Andre David became their hitting coach. I just hate that Jose got slapped around without using his best pitch. I think he forgets sometimes how great his forkball is.
  15. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:11 AM) And after last weekend's sweep i thought things were really starting to come around for this team, BOY was I wrong. After last nite and tonite's debacle, i'm befuddled as to what to think of this team now. It's my fault...I was actually incredibly optimistic for yesterday's game. It was probably the most confident I've ever been for a Sox game.
  16. PK makes it look easy with the great approach. Any chance AJP doesn't hit into a DP here?
  17. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) You can pretty much throw out any momentum we gained from sweeping the Tigers. This is just brutal. If we lose tonight, we have negative momentum. I don't even want to think what will happen if we lose tomorrow heading into Minnesota.
  18. Lets score 3 runs here, and somehow get the tying run to the plate tonight!
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) Last year we beat the crappy teams, and held our own against the good teams. This year we do good against most of the good teams, and then play just over 500 ball against crappy teams. Meanwhile the Twinks and the Tigers beat the living snot out of crappy teams. The more things change, the more this feels like 2001-2004 White Sox baseball.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) Ozzie looked like he was trying to win for a few days there. Now, it's back to the mentality that we're simply better than every other team and we don't have to prove it. I made the comment during yesterday's game that it looked like we thought all we had to do is show up, and the game was over. There's been no concentration at the plate, in the field, and on the mound.
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) Absolutely embarrassing. Someone tell me -- do aces typically surrender 7 runs to the Kansas City Royals? Jose hasn't been an ace since his injury. He's had a few good starts, but he's nowhere near the same pitcher. Will someone please tell me where his 3 mph have gone? Everything is in the 91 mph range.
