  1. 2nd half MVP of baseball gives the Twins a 4-3 lead with a homer off of Zumaya.
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) I love when we make struggling pitchers look dominating. This is not a good lineup we have to face him tonight.
  3. QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:14 AM) That's why the Tigers have been so successful this year (besides good pitching)...their lower half of the order has really come through for them. And they consistently beat the best pitchers in baseball.
  4. That 0-2 pitch looked like a strike.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:04 AM) He's truly on his way to becoming a big liability out there. I honestly think that our starters ERA would be significantly better if we saw better range by our corner outfielders (and Rob when he's in center).
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) We're...uh...we're not good at building on momentum. How many times this year have we said, "that win is going to spark the team," or something like that? At least the infield defense showed up today.
  7. Lets go offense...wake up! 2 for 31
  8. I'm going to cry...I turned on the Cubs game to see Brady Clark bat (the guy we all want for LF/CF). On the first pitch I see, he hits a bomb off of Zambrano. At least it was against the Cubs. QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 12:49 AM) Buck Martinez isn't the most pleasant voice to listen to...but he's pretty knowledgable and relays good info. The problem is it's not always true.
  9. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) Well, with AJ on deck, I don't think its that dumb, but yes, Congrats! I agree, it's a smart decision. Randy is the best lefty pitcher against lefty hitters I've seen in my lifetime. I don't care if Sandy is Buehrle's personal catcher, he should have been playing tonight also.
  10. I never thought I'd see the day where Randy Johnson pitches around Joe Crede. Congrats Joe!
  11. It's going to be a long game if we can't capitalize on Johnson's hanging sliders. From what I've seen of him this year, he'll hang about one out of every three sliders he throws.
  12. Lets go PK, Dye, and Crede. It's on you guys tonight to get some runs produced.
  13. Another tremendous play by Crede.
  14. Their team speed is just killing us so far. We seem to give up a lot of doubles on plays like that because our LF are playing on the warning track.
  15. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) Yeah... its too bad we don't have any other "leadoff" hitters though. Mackowiak should get a start at the top and in LF. I would have no objections to that. Flat on both sides to start.... Come on Jon, 1-2-3. Actually, we should have acquired a 4th outfielder who's righty and can play solid defense. I'll be stunned if we get any production from our 1-2-3 hitters tonight.
  16. Ozuna is 2 for his last 30. Stay hot 1-2 hitters.
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) Alomar was brought here to be Mark's personal catcher, that's all. Yep, and it's a shame that we then have to play AJP against real tough lefties. Ozuna can't be playing anymore. Isn't he like 1 for his last 30?
  18. Thankfully he got away with only one run. One quick lineup comment....playing Sandy vs Escobar on Monday and AJP tonight vs Randy Johnson is just retarded.
  19. Fantastic play by Crede! Hold them to one run, and you'll have some momentum.
  20. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) Man, how many times is this team going to kill the momentum they gained from the night before? Unbelievable. When your starting pitching stinks, it's hard to keep momentum going. This particular Yankees lineup is going to hammer pitchers if they don't have good stuff.
  21. This is about to get ugly. This team coming out flat tonight is inexcusable after last night's win.
  22. 2 batters, and team speed playing a huge part already in the game. Good stop by Crede there though.
