  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) I wouldn't be totally against Pods on the 150 day DL to rest, with Owens coming up, and Mack in LF. Fixed
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) Actually I think that Mack will give you more stolen bases now that Mr. Dergan has been neutered on the base paths. Mr. Dergan is hurt, there is no other explanation why he is slow now. It's ironic that his only steal in the 2nd half of the season was when he was picked off.
  3. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:57 AM) he had a real good month in may or june though... National League pitching?
  4. 93 mph fastball by Garcia, and he gets the pop up. Well done Freddy!
  5. Teahen just missed that. And yes, the Undertaker stuff with the bike is lame as hell.
  6. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:54 AM) Podsednik hasn't been the same since the groin injury last year. Ugh....I don't like this excuse. If he still isn't 100 pct, then he likely will never be.
  7. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) if the sox get no hit by this piece of spliff I am so going to cry myself to sleep. His stuff is pretty nasty. I usually don't give pitchers credit, but I'm very impressed.
  8. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:51 AM) Seriously what the hell has given Pods this right to lazily run to 1st? I can't recall a single infield hit for Pods this season. Gload has about 4 in the last month. 85 mph fastball by Garcia ripped up the middle.
  9. Ugh...this lineup stinks tonight. We better hope PK and Thome are healthy, as our schedule is brutal for a few weeks.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) I actually think people are overly harsh on Gload's defense. He was pretty solid in the OF on ocassions in Charlotte when I saw him play and I think in his case you give him some consistent time out there and he'll be far better than Pods and is already no worse than Pods (yes, Pods really is that bad). Plus Gload has a great approach at the plate and since Scotty can't steal bases, Gload really isn't much of a downgrade in terms of speed. Gload is faster getting down the first base line now, as he hustles his ass off.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:46 AM) Anyone notice Freddy's reaction after the infield single by Shealy? I think he showed up another teammate. Maybe if our players would communicate on the field, they might have been able to have a chance to get him out.
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) I think Mack and Gload should just start and leadoff. I'm not kidding either. I absolutely agree. Gload is bad on defense, but it's almost impossible to be worse than Pods out there.
  13. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) i really believe that neither of them will be on the team next year I'll believe it when I see it that Garcia is no longer on the team. I have a feeling Ozzie is going to have a very tough time letting him go. As for Pods...I'm not even sure he's going to end up starting for this team by the end of this season.
  14. Ok...could have been worse. Maybe that inning will be a positive...and lead to more Mackowiak in LF.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:42 AM) Wow. Freddy, have fun for someone else next year. I'd be thrilled if our SP and LF were on a different team next season. It's too guys that have seen their physical skills deteriorate way too soon in their career.
  16. Good grief....does this team practice or communicate?
  17. Well, this is just dandy. Lots of examples of the Sox weakness this season on display this inning.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) I have no doubt that if Pablo consistently played LF that he would be lightyears better than POds. Pods is freaking terrible. Adam Dunn is the only guy worse. At least Dunn can throw guys out on the bases.
  19. QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) When's he gonna be benched for "defensive indifference"? April
  20. And here comes a KC scoring threat. Garcia better start throwing the ball harder. He's throwing in the mid 80s right now.
  21. Meanwhile, Mackowiak and his .400 OBP sits on the bench.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) Hawk with another stretch stretch. He truly is worthless on home runs calls. At least that one would have hit the wall if it wouldn't have been caught.
  23. There's Gathright making every catch seem difficult. Someone with his speed should have been camped under that ball.
