  1. Good job Ozzie...leave Vazquez in long enough to possibly get the loss.
  2. Don't you just love thought that we have Cotts warming up, and Ozzie let Vazquez start the inning with 2 of the first 3 batters being lefty?
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) Now Mr. 6th inning just plunked someone. How many fishing times does it have to happen before ozzie figures it out. I still blame whoever put on that golf outing in Venezuela during the offseason.
  4. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) Really? At the thesis defense I've been to, the profs have been hard ashes about the students being able to back up their numbers with facts... Santana has 2.14 is era over the past three years against the sox... Mainly due to 2005 when he dominated the sox and had a sub 1 era in about 40 innings. I didn't say Santana's career numbers. I said in his recent outings (meaning his last 10 starts or so). We destroyed him early on about three years ago, when they thought he had some arm issues. We ended up beating him like 16-7 in a game.
  5. What a mental midget. That didn't take long.
  6. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:10 PM) Any deal for him would likely need to include Anderson/BMac, so when Jones would need a rest, Mack would be back in CF If the deal was Anderson and McCarthy for Jones, I'd seriously consider it. Jones is a superstar, and I think he still has some years left on his contract.
  7. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:16 PM) Am i the only one here who thinks we should rearrange our 3-4-5 to Dye-Thome-PK With Dye being our most dangerous all around hitter, he gets a lot more RBI chances with Thome and PK in front of him.
  8. Is it too early to make a defense sub? Come on Javy....show that a 2 run lead in the 6th isn't easy to blow.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) 1.21 Before Tuesday. So, is that considered low 1s?
  10. Yes sir!!! As DJ said, the base running paid off. It seems like it's been ages since we saw a simple hit like that. Anyone else with flashbacks to Game 4 of the WS?
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:13 PM) Johan Santana Vs the White Sox since 7/1/04 is 8-2 with a 1.44 ERA, 10.1 K/9, 1.7 BB/9 he's allowed a whooping 8 HRs over that time. That ERA was actually much lower before last Tuesday's game.
  12. Come on JD, get a single here. PK had some meatballs to launch that AB.
  13. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:11 PM) If you have gameday up check out Britton's pic. Yuck
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:08 PM) Why would their manager pull their starter, who usually struggles, before he actually implodes? Pretty crappy managing, if you ask me. You're supposed to let him give up 5 runs and 2 homers in an inning before replacing him. Ha, fishing idiot. Obviously, the managers didn't want to try and have the starter gain confidence...and a loss.
  15. Cubs are about to sweep the Cards. I can't wait to hear tomorrow how they're still in the WC race.
  16. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 07:03 PM) low 1s? do you just make numbers up to prove your point? No, I provide numbers to support my point. If that's not the right method, then I'll make sure to have my grad school teachers apologize to you.
  17. Swing the freaking bat! It's called protect the plate, even if it's close. I thought "speed" guys are supposed to make a lot of contact.
  18. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) He'd look horrible in a White Sox uniform, no thanks. If we were to somehow get him, I sure wouldn't complain. He's a superstar...and it would mean no more Mackowiak in CF.
  19. Got away with a hanger there. Next inning is the dreaded 6th inning/76 pitch and up mark. A few runs here would be huge.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) He reminds me of Catfish. Let me tell you about how Yaz or Jim Rice would have gone about facing him.
  21. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 06:55 PM) and everybody else in the league... but I'm sure your right. Santana doesn't win 90 pct of his games against other teams like he does vs the Sox. His ERA is in the low 1s against us the last few years. He's a great pitcher, but the Sox struggle against him more than other teams.
  22. If Crede could have got to 2nd on his hit, that would have been an RBI single.
  23. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jul 30, 2006 -> 06:53 PM) the only way the sox have touched santana is with the home run... Says who? We've had the same approach for years against him, and that's why he kicks our ass.
