  1. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) on gameday it shows the ball on the wall, how close was it.....mlb extra innings aint giving me love today Very close. Hernandez thought it was gone, fathom thought it was gone, and the way Anderson sprinted back at first, I think he thought it was gone.
  2. I'm very grateful to still have a 3 run lead after that inning.
  3. Time to pull McCarthy. He's been given the chance to work out of his jam, and he hasn't been able to.
  4. These fastballs are extremely hittable, especially a pull hitter like Millar.
  5. QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 11:00 PM) Knowing you too well Fathom. You just have to have Ozzie in every blame! Yes, he should have never allowed Garland to start this inning. I don't know anyone who thought Garland should have started this inning.
  6. QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) So when he was pitching good in relief, I didn't hear you saying this. You were just raving how good BMAC is, but when he is terrible, oh because he needs to have a good feel for his pitches. Come on! BMAC is a good pitcher, but no way he is great. I've said from day one I don't want him in the bullpen. This was even more evident after he said he doesn't like the feel he gets on his pitches when he's out there. All I know is that his 92 mph fastball down the plate is meat right now.
  7. Nothing like throwing two fastballs past a hitter, and then speeding up his bat. I really hope KW knows what he's doing by putting this much faith in McCarthy.
  8. QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) Come on! Stop blaming this on Ozzie. BMAC is overrated by a lot of people on this site! There goes trade value! The blames goes to Garland/McCarthy/Ozzie this inning.
  9. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) please, no posts about bmac being a better starter than he is a reliever Why, it makes a lot of sense? He's a finesse pitcher, and it's very hard to have a good feel for your pitches coming right out of the bullpen. If we weren't going to start him this year, he should have been in AAA making a lot of starts.
  10. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) As well as he should. It's Bmac's job to not allow those runners to score. In the situation he came in, it would have been fine if he only allowed the 2 inherited runners. Now, we have ourselves a tight game. I really would like to know why Ozzie is so set on having his starters begin an inning that he likely has no intention of keeping them in for the whole inning?
  11. It's 11-8 now. Great to see some urgency by Ozzie.
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) That's just pods being pods. He plays defense like he hits like Manny Ramirez, and he hits like he's Darren Lewis. And it's 11-6 now. Terrible managing this inning.
  13. Stop playing so deep Pods, and you might be able to make a good catch once in a while. I have no clue why Garland started this inning. You pull him after 5 innings, and he has confidence from getting out of the jam like he did.
  14. What a terrible player. OZZIE...get Garland out of the game.
  15. I'm surprised Garland is still on the mound. This is one of those instances where pulling him after 5 might help his arm down the road.
  16. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) somebody has to tell me why crede is hitting so many pop ups...is it the upper cut swing? He's not swinging very aggressive. It's almost like he's taking his 2 strike approach swing on every pitch he sees.
  17. That's a very funny post. Way to be creative! And no, I'm not being sarcatic.
  18. Yes! I wouldn't mind seeing McCarthy start the inning. Garland hasn't had much today, but he made some big pitches when he had to.
  19. Biggest batter of the game for Garland here.
  20. Ozzie should get McCarthy up in the pen again. Terrible start to this inning. Garland's got to make some tough pitches again, or he's not finishing this inning. 10 hits allowed by Garland in 4+ innings.
  21. Lets go Garland! Get out of this inning without a lot of damage.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 29, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) I hope he does this much more often. With the bullpen we have, we can afford to let the pen pitch 4-5 innings in some games. And when the pitcher sees a guy warming up, it might motivate them a little more. No pitcher wants to get pulled when his team has a big lead prior to the 6th inning.
  23. Garland makes two of his best pitches that inning with 2 guys on. Great job Jon!
