  1. Hawk...we're living and dying with the homer. Please shut up about the ball being juiced.
  2. Wow....we suck. That's embarrassing. Maybe this will speed up any potential blockbuster trade.
  3. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) Did you watch the play????? He DID slide to the outside. He was safe. How about posting less with the criticisms when you're wrong? Iguchi made a good slide to the outside, he got in there, and yet you criticize his slide. Unreal. From what I saw, he slid right to the middle of the bag.
  4. Holy cow!! He looked out. Ozzie needs to get tossed, as now 3 of the 4 umps have screwed us.
  5. Why can't we get a hit like that with 2 outs and a guy on 3rd? Here comes Babe Tyner.
  6. Strong words by Hawk there. Refreshing to hear.
  7. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) Whoever made the decision it was a good one. Yep, 100 pct right decision. Especially considering Santana's on the mound, you have to try and get to third base with one out.
  8. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) Please tell us exactly how he should have slid Mr. Baseball, especially considering he beat the tag and the umpire was behing the play and couldn't see where the 3rd baseman applied the tag. I'll sit back and wait for my answer. Sheesh. You slide to the back of the base. If the 3rd baseman is on the inside of the base, you go to the outside. Hell...Cora had a good view of the play, he could have pointed for him to go more to the outside.
  9. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:40 AM) Can we get a break? Please! We seem so slow out there. It's too bad...Thome's had some great ABs vs Santana tonight.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) Eh....two schools of thought...you want every run you can against Santana. I understand not giving away outs, but a man on third with one out woulda been real nice. I absolutely agree with the decision to go to 3rd there. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:39 AM) maybe a make up call For what?
  11. He was safe. A very bad slide though.
  12. You've got to be kidding me. Iguchi is so damn slow. That is so symptomatic.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:36 AM) He was keeping his hands back, and just flipping the bat at the changeup. Just like that
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:34 AM) Gooch's first game last year against santana he put the pall in play real well. Then after that he was done. He was keeping his hands back, and just flipping the bat at the changeup.
  15. Great inning by Contreras there. Ozuna Magic, where are ya?
  16. Am I the only one who would love it if the Twins and Tigers would have been in the NL? The Tigers are an absolute joy to watch this season, and the Santana/Liriano combination is something very special.
  17. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:29 AM) Is it possible to win a baseball game 1-1? I'm tired of bed wettings against Santana. Take extra video, lay down a bunt, adopt a plan between hitters of alternating which pitch to look for; do something. You can't just sit back and shrug your shoulders. If we're going to get 1 run off Santana and Liriano the remaining outtings, might as well forfeit them now. Our pitchers are nowhere near their talent. Even with Contreras batting Santana tonight, no one can tell me they're comparable. I just have that feeling Contreras will be the first to make a mistake. More than an additional two runs added onto their run total and it won't look too good for us. Santana and Liriano are the reason that if we fall 4 or 5 games back in the WC standings to the Twins, it's going to be extremely hard to catch them. Those two guys make it very hard to have an extended losing streak.
  18. Big inning here for Contreras. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:28 AM) feels like I'm just waiting around to watch minny score again and put the nail in the coffin. I hate feeling like this. I have a feeling there's 25 people in the 3rd base dugout who fear the same thing.
  19. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:27 AM) Baseball's best offense right thurr. Yes. Sorry, it should have read...the rest of the year. Does he already have a hit against them so far this season? QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:27 AM) Didn't he already get sawed off and have one against Johan in the first game? See my post below yours.
  20. Here's a fun game to play....will Anderson get a hit against Liriano or Santana this entire year?
  21. Sandy with a couple of rockets so far.
  22. Mauer is so tall, he has a higher target than a lot of other catchers. I've noticed quite a few times how the Twins pitchers seem to get the high strike more than others.
  23. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 01:19 AM) I thought it was a nice move by Guillen to remind the umpire the strike zone should be the same no matter who's pitching. Hawk and DJ are right, the zone has been slightly different for Santana vs. Contreras. IMO. The only time I believe a manager should get ejected is when he feels the zone is unfair, and the sooner he goes out there, the better. The last thing you want to do is have it get in our hitters head. In no way is this blaming Sandy, but he's been struggling with righties up framing pitches so far. That's not surprising, as Contreras has such a funky delivery.
