Talk about a downer, I think we all completely understand you don't like Podsednik. Annoying is as annoying does. Personally I think the swear filter is serving a purpose, it is clearly showing how much swearing goes on around here. And believe me I'm not anti-swearing. But it's fascinating to see how much swearing actually goes on and it's too much. IMO.
Read my last post. At least my Pods comments are baseball related.
With our inability to hit a hanging curve, Garcia/Vaz would be kicking our ass tonight.
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:27 AM)
Why does this have to become nothing but a swear fest? Just asking.
No, it has nothing to do with swearing. My comment was in regards to people continuing to type "spiff" or "fish".

Pretty soon, KW is gonna have to figure out trades to make to
compete solely for wild card.
Detroit is close to running away with it.
To be honest, I'm much more concerned with the Twins and Yankees than I am the Tigers. If the Tigers continue to play solid ball the rest of the way, they're going to be one of the four playoff teams. The Twins are playing scary good right now.
For everyone complaining about our 1-2 hitters....the Twins guys currently have a 15 and 14 game hitting streak.
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:23 AM)
Dropping fast behind the division leader and behind wildcard contenders is not a blessing.
Of course it's not, but at least it's happening now instead of August 5th.
QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:22 AM)
Thsi swear filtering is really annoying and kinda silly
I personally think it's really bringing this board down. However, I respect the mods/admins enough to trust their decisions.
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:22 AM)
I see no reason to trade AJ either
Sorry, I should have listed him also.
Again, this could be a blessing in disguise. I would love to see KW panic and make a blockbuster move to spark this team. Outside of Thome, Dye, Konerko, Jenks, Contreras, and Crede, there's not a single player that "can't" be traded.
QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:17 AM)
He strikes out looking because he's being incredibly patient, which is another reason his walk total has jumped since last year. You take the good with the bad.
Yes, but when you have speed, you're supposed to put the ball in play no matter what. Juan Pierre isn't a good player, but he knows his job is to put the ball in play.
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:07 AM)
But Everett is better.
He would have no place on this team. And our outfield is bad enough without him out there.
Teams are simply out-executing us now.
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:04 AM)
It's not completely Ozzie's fault. He doesn't acquire stiffs like Widger, Mack, Cintron, et. all. Everett
and Blum woulda been better. But I agree
he plays the B team too much.
Mack and Cintron are superb back-ups. The one thing Ozzie still hasn't learned is that Mack isn't a CF!
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 01:04 AM)
Joe looks a little late on a FB up and in.
45% of our runs have came on the HR. ANyone know what the % was last year?
Crede with one of his worst ABs of the season. The players just seem sluggish at the plate.
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 12:51 AM)
I actually like it, its a bit of a distraction from the Sox poor play, yet something that could be used as a bit of a rallying point.
I posted this before I heard Ozzie's quotes today. Supposedly, he went around to a few Rangers players he's friends with and told them that if they start spiff this series, they're going to get hit. I just hope none of our players get hurt in the impending fight this wknd.
