  1. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) Disgusting. Wild card lead is now 3. Which is a hell of a lot more important than how the f***ing Tigers are doing against the Royals.
  2. This is one of the worst losses of the season.
  3. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) He obviously was not feeling well. Hoepfully the day off will get rid of the flu crap. It's like a two week flu for him then. I hope he sees a doctor. Hopefully he doesn't have appendicitis like yours truly did.
  4. Nice pull swing by PK. What a f***ing pathetic game for him.
  5. QUOTE(G&T @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) NO DOUPLE PLAYS, PAULIE. And here comes Ozuna for no real reason. Very smart to have Ozuna be the tying run. Take him out to right Paulie!
  6. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) I am flipping back and forth between Sox-Tigers games, and you can see KC knowing they are/or about to blow it...it's really sad to watch. Doesn't it remind you of the way the Indians found a way to win all those games in the 2nd half of last year. Except this year, the Tigers have done it all year.
  7. Very interesting take by Thome. I'll take it though.
  8. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 08:02 PM) How bout the 3 singles from these three like the other night. Dye matches up the best against Rivera.
  9. It's too bad Pods hit into a DP last inning. We've completely outplayed the Yankees today.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) You spoke about 6 outs too early. 9-6 now, and still no outs in the 8th. Man, the Tigers have "it". It's too bad they're competing with us, as I would really admire them if they were in the NL.
  11. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) At the least, I see that Detroit's played poor against KC this weekend, too, and was fortunate that they were playing KC, because that's the only reason they pulled out their wins, aside from Verlander's. I take some heart in the way they've been playing. They just won 3 out of 4. With their record so far, that type of "crappy" play will let them cruise into the playoffs. It's not like we kicked the s*** out of KC last year when we'd beat them. We had an insane amount of one run, lucky wins vs them last year.
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) The dude is hitting .200 on the year. THe fact that you single me out is hilarious. Everybody hates on Pods and you dont' say a thing when everybody is hating on him when he is crushing BA offensively. THe double standard is hilarious. Am I actually seeing an argument between two of the most optimistic posters on this site? Next thing you know is that Milkman and I are going to get into an argument.
  13. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) What the f*** are you talking about? Gload can do everything Mackowiak does for a fraction of the cost. He's just not getting a chance. Shut up It's just simply amazing that we're almost 100 games into the season, and we still have the same holes on our roster that we did the opening weekend.
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:52 PM) .330+ with RISP. 2 for 3 with 2 walks on the day. Then you are going to say he's not clutch when one of the best closers of all time gets him out? I would have rather had a righty on the bench we could have hit in that situation. Lefties have no prayer against Rivera. Of course, Gload continues to be a waste of a roster spot.
  15. Torre continues just a masterful job of managing this weekend.
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:52 PM) No, but if it was Brian that hit into that DP, you would have been all over him. Funny how that works.
  17. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:51 PM) Just one of those weekends. Unfortunately it is two in a row. That was more them than us last week though. It's too bad we can't face the national league anytime soon. Those terrible teams hide our lack of fundamentals/coaching.
  18. PATHETIC! This is truly disgusting. We need a righty outfielder off of the bench.
  19. With the way Pods swings, he has no chance to hit Rivera's cutter square.
  20. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:48 PM) Considering how difficult it is to bunt off Rivera, I would have realized afer the first attempt it's better to swing. That would require actual insight by our coaching staff.
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:46 PM) Go back to April, and watch those 3 pitch K's in the dirt with his long, loopy swing. You just dont see those AB's anymore. He is a total different hitter. Exactly. His swing is shorter. He's actually one of our better line drive hitters now. It's great to see, and everyone knows I'm not a homer.
  22. QUOTE(minorsfan @ Jul 16, 2006 -> 07:45 PM) Josh Fields was taken out because of injury I think it is a precautionary move, he got his knee hit by the helmet of a Pawtucket player when he slide into third. He stayed in the game but was removed to be safe I assume since Velandia was available on the bench Good to hear he wasn't traded. Hopefully he's ok. I fear that we'll trade him for a middle reliever.
  23. Uribe's going to be bunting here, and it better be good, or else Crede's going to be a dead duck at third.
  24. Anderson's really been putting together good at-bats. It doesn't seem very long ago where he was an automatic out at the plate.
