Official Game Thread 7/7 - Sawx vs Sox 7:35

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:45 AM) This is probably the most frustrated I have been all season. I am just pulling my hair out this game. I didn't expect much from Buehrle coming into tonight's game. We need a big hit early in the game, but didn't get good ABs in our bases loaded/2 men on situations. I do wish our fans would STFU in their arguing with Tigers fans about not playing quality teams. We haven't played the Red Sox or Yankees yet, while the Tigers have. -

Well, no matter what happens this wknd, I'm happy with the first half of the season. Even if we lose every game this series, we'll still have, at the least, a 4 game lead for the playoffs. The Sox got swept last year in the final series of the first half. -

QUOTE(Linnwood @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:41 AM) Are there that many Red Sox fans there, or a lot of idiot White Sox "fans"? Cheering for Pods fly out? It's every 10 yr old girl in the crowd happy to see Pods not take a called 3rd strike. For my fellow wrestling fans, Pods is the equivalent of Jeff Hardy. -

Would Tampa trade us Crawford for Politte and Widger? -

With Papelbon as their closer, no way should Widger have been batting to start this inning. -

QUOTE(MinnySoxFan @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:33 AM) I swear that some of you haven't ever seen this team play before. They'll win tonight. And if they don't they'll win the next two. Hitting as well as they are and down by 3 with more than a few innings left shouldn't be too much. Just need a little Bonnie Tyler. That's all. Tonight was important, as I've seen Garcia pitch, and he doesn't have a chance in hell of keeping the Red Sox under 5 runs tomorrow. If Garcia allows less than 5 runs tomorrow, and the White Sox win, I won't post for 5 games. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:32 AM) What the hell are you talking about? He looks fine at the plate. Hitting the ball well, walking, with 2 HR and 6 RBIs. He looks extremely comfortable at the plate. Just because he hits into 1 DP doesn't mean he is uncomfortable. He had a walk and a hard single before that. He's hit into like 3 double plays this week where he rolled over on the pitch. PK is one of the most obvious guys to judge how they feel at the plate, and he's been frustrated all week on pitches. -

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) I really hope we can Vazquez after the ASB, and put B-Mac in. There's a better chance Tracey is brought back up to the team....and there's a 0 pct chance of that ever happening. -

Can someone please tell me what our record is with Widger catching this season? The worst thing about losing to the Red Sox is having to deal with some of their annoying fans. I love the ones that will defend every and anything bad written about a Red Sox player on this site. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) He has over a 1.000 OPS in his last like 20 games. Why would time off do him well? Because you can tell in the last week, he's not comfortable at the plate. Never did I say he's doing bad. -

Lester's been effectively wild tonight, and our hitters haven't put good swings on enough pitches. -

Wow, Dye looks to be adjusting his swing for the HR Derby already. Every swing has been a massive uppercut. -

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:15 AM) How many DP's for Konerko now? He's had quite a few recently. He's been rolling over a lot of pitches. I think the ASB will do him well, as hopefully he'll get some bat speed back. -

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) Another one of our pitchers makes a dumb f***ing 2 strike pitch. What is the point of just throwing a cookie up there. 3-2 Red Cubs Our pitchers haven't gotten that big strikeout to end an inning. We're giving up just a ton of 2 strike hits lately. -

Lets keep throwing fastballs to a dead fastball hitter. That run should have never scored, as Crede screwed up by not throwing to 2nd to get the force. -

Could have been a completely different inning if this f***ing ump doesn't give Lester that 3-0 pitch. Crede's swinging at some s*** so far tonight. -

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) Hey leave him alone. He's an all star pitcher. I'm sure that gave the Red Sox more motivation to light him up, as Schilling was definitely more deserving. -

Well, our starters continue to suck. I love Widger behind the plate!!!! -
QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 03:52 AM) and why do you say that with such confidence? Ozzie would have to be out of any other options before he'd call Tracey back up. I'm not getting into more detail about this, but I'd be stunned if Tracey's a member of this organization after this year.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 03:40 AM) There is a difference, perhaps too subtle for you to comprehend, between not wanting Politte anymore on the team -- and nobody can possibly want him to remain -- and saying, "He's trash" over and over and over, and ridiculing the end of his career. I'm not going to work myself up over it, and I'm going to bow out now, thanks. I just wanted to say that those of you laughing at Cliff's failures and screeching not for him to bow out of the game, to be cut from the team, but having all the fun in the world and directing all your misguided anger toward him should be ashamed. But, hey, he's garbage, and worthless now, right? So it's okay to be cruel instead of insensitive. Mrs. Politte, shouldn't you be looking at real estate in the Cincinnati area? I don't think any of us are happy that it's come to this with Cliff.
-
QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 03:30 AM) Give me Montero, Give me Tracey, Give me Farnsworth... at this point I will take almost anyone on the farm over Cliff. Thanks for the memories Cliff. I can confidently say that Tracey's not an option.

QUOTE(tigerfan @ Jul 7, 2006 -> 03:35 AM) Alright if you want to go that way, who's lost games to KC? Don't you have something better to do than be on the White Sox message board on a night your team's not even playing? I know the mods on this site have allowed you to continue posting, but I thought that was only if you were actually contributing to the site, and not trying to stir up s***.
