  1. Nice pick by Thome there. Lets keep the hits coming on offense.
  2. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:54 PM) Base hit by Mack with runners on first and 2nd with 2 outs, Joey was waiving Jim and then stopped him. AJ thought Jim was being sent and was heading to third and once JT slammed on the breaks, AJ got caught in a run down. Would Thome have been safe at home?
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 11:52 PM) The other play was all on Cora. What happened on that play in the first inning? Our base running today has likely cost us a few runs.
  4. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 07:09 AM) Fathom would not understand that. He backs all his arguments with a statbook. Actually, I'm one of the last people on this site that uses stats. Rather, I use my own eyes to make observations. And with that, I will say that Vazquez isn't keeping hitters off-balanced. Rather, he's throwing way too many pitches over the heart of the plate (as JimH accurately points out). He really needs to use his changeup and slider more than he is. His loopy curve hasn't been fooling anyone.
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 06:42 AM) I'm so glad baseball tonight just showed the highlights and didn't make a big deal out of what we did. But Mussina's start tonight for the Yankees was sooo much more important. I enjoyed hearing what has been wrong with his mechanics lately. f*** ESPN. Baseball Tonight was filmed before our game. Our games have been one of the main stories on ESPN all week. That's the last thing we should be complaining about.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 05:52 AM) I think, as fans, we saw tonight that this team is special. It's weird, cause I'm getting the same tingle I got last year. My confidence in our offense this year is 5 times what it was last year. I do have a serious question though? Has Ross Gload done anything this year to help us win a game?
  7. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:49 AM) I was gonna ask that too. I honestly feel this game was a better loss than Clevelands. Yep...as the Astros aren't a divisional team. For everyone freaking out about being 1.5 behind the Tigers, remember that we're 6 up on the Yankees for the WC.
  8. Great comeback tonight. It's a thrill to see this team never give up. We just couldn't catch a break in extra innings. One thing I will say is that Ozzie has got to find a way to use McCarthy more. He's just not very effective when he pitches one or two times a week. He had nothing on his pitches tonight.
  9. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:46 AM) Actually momentum will probably allow the Stros to win game 1, but game 2 nahhhhh. now close this thread, just a bunch of people yelling at each other thru a comptuer...next Thanks dad
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:38 AM) You take Dye and Crede out of the lineup then you wonder where the O goes. And where you defense goes.
  11. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:37 AM) Excuse me for being positive and expecting big heroics on a night when the Sox come back from an 8-run deficit. I haven't seen a single positive post from you. You make me out to look like the Mr. Optimism.
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:35 AM) Dammit Bmac. Make better 0-2 pitches. THat is a momentum KILLER. Come on...if we're going to start blaming people for 0-2 pitches, Vazquez is the f***ing goat for the s*** he threw to Lamb.
  13. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:35 AM) When I said "Uribe up with 2 outs. Game Over." I meant game over as in walk off home run. You're the most annoying poster I've seen on this board...and that's hard to FATHOM.
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:32 AM) To me it would be one of the hardest. THat's a once in awhile type of comeback and to blow it after you come back is a real downer. I think it's just cause I considered this a loss in about the 5th inning. The type of loss that really stings was the Cubs game where Uribe threw it away.
  15. Some pathetic ABs in extra innings. Too many people taking strikes, and swinging at pitches at the ankles.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:30 AM) I feel sick. This game will hurt a lot if we lose just cause of how amazing it could have been. For me, this would be one of the "easiest" losses in a long time.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:28 AM) Ross is up there cuttin' like he's in the little leagues. BATTLE ROSS! He's the king of taking good swings and fouling it off.
  18. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:25 AM) That wasn't a good 0-2 pitch. It needs to be in the dirt. I thought it was an 0-1. This ump sucks though.
  19. QUOTE(jenksd @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:24 AM) that kid ain't gonna be crucified. probably thought it was foul like everyone here and at the stadium. Hell, he was our best chance at getting it changed to a double. Everett would have had an easy triple on that.
  20. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:24 AM) Cmon guys. We need to come back. Can't lose a game like this after the big night from Iguchi. Damn Bmac. You can't blame McCarthy for that triple. I bet this is the last time Ozzie pulls one of his starting position players in a game.
  21. So far, the "game of inches" has definitely gone to the Astros in extra inning. That triple couldn't have been placed more perfectly, and the Cintron/Iguchi plays could have easily gone the other way if not for .1 more seconds.
  22. Lots of good swings at McCarthy's straight fastball so far. Kinda ironic that the biggest damage came on a blooper.
  23. This game is exhibit #100 on why we need a defensive outfielder taking up our 25th spot on the roster.
  24. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:16 AM) No. He lets everything drop in front of him. Your act is getting really f***ing annoying. I'm not sure why you haven't been banned yet.
