  1. Good start to this inning. I think this radar gun is 3-4 mph fast tonight.
  2. QUOTE(soxunited @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:37 AM) I shudder to think what a team in the AL would be doing to Vasquez right now. When a team like the Astros (ranks 20/30 in MLB in runs scored) is smacking you around the field, you know your stuff is ineffective. Astros have been taking good swings all series long.
  3. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:33 AM) only chance we can win is if we can get back into that pen You can't play that way against Oswalt. He has good enough control where he'll get into the 8th inning easily. We just need to score some runs against him. Taking pitches will result in a look of 0-2 situations.
  4. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) Zone got bigger in the bottom half. Hope we get some consistency. Did Vazquez get squeezed in the top of the 1st? I thought the zone was fine with him. However, Oswalt's the type of pitcher who will absolutely paint the corners with his fastball. We're going to have a ton of K's looking tonight.
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) Uh, no. That bloop was falling. I went back and looked twice. First, why does Pods have to play 10 feet from the warning track for Chris Burke? Second, he didn't read that well at all off of the bat. Doesn't matter though, Vazquez just isn't fooling batters much these days.
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) 2 bloops a walk and a blast. Tired of it. Maybe if our LF didn't have concrete on his shoes, one of those bloopers wouldn't have dropped. Our defense hasn't been stellar recently.
  7. Good pitch there. Big out, but needs to make a few more good pitches this inning.
  8. Haha....what a worthless defensive player. You could see on the replay it took him forever to start coming in on the ball.
  9. Leadoff single vs Vazquez. We need Vazquez to turn it up, he seems to be giving up a ton of base runners recently.
  10. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:55 PM) Right, and even if you sustain MLB's best record doesn't mean you're any more likely to get past the World Champion White Sox in the ALCS. Since the Tigers are an inferior team to the White Sox, look for the World Champs to advance. Definitive statements rule :banghead
  11. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:43 PM) You don't agree that the Sox are the best team in the division? It's too hard to tell right now. If the Tigers stay healthy the rest of the way, they have as good of a shot at winning the division as the Sox do.
  12. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:38 PM) Except that the 2005 Sox were the best team in their division, league and game, and the 2006 Tigers are not even the best team in their division. Again...says who?
  13. QUOTE(TheHolyBovine @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:35 PM) I'll try to make a better comparison: Last year, the Nationals were in 1st place at the AS break, and they had a fantastic record in 1-run games. They didn't last, and neither will Detroit. Sounds exactly like what people said about the Sox last year also.
  14. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:27 PM) I didn't know you played professionally. I faced him numerous times in high school. I would have never thought he'd even play D1 college ball. QUOTE(Dawgs @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) You are the same guy that said Ill wait to see how they are doing in June, arent ya? They arent going away Sox fans. In fact they look to be picking up the pace. Cool
  15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) By far. I just want to know how I was able to get him out, yet anyone after the 7th inning can't?
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:23 PM) Granderson needs to go away. He's their MVP so far this season.
  17. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:18 PM) The Tigers love them some late inning bloopers. No kidding...it's amazing how they've been doing it. The funny thing is that other teams fans surely said that about us last season.
  18. Personally, I'd rather the Yankees lose both of their DH games today than the Tigers lose.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 07:06 PM) I love it when people like you forget how good of a player he was. Everyone raved about Rowand that season but with Maggz and Thomas down Clee was probably the MVP of the team. And while he admires his HR's and it bit him in the ass once he is still one helluva ballplayer. Magglio was supposedly done after that freak injury too he seems to performing fine to me for the Tigers. Im glad we have Scott Podsenick especially for what he did last season and what he does on the base paths. But that doesnt take away that Clee would be one of the best hitters on this team or any team in the majors. I think C. Lee is a very dangerous hitter. However, I also think he's not exactly a winning ball player. He's the type of player who will hit two homers in a 12-3 game, but will hit into a double play with 2 on, 1 outs in a one run game in the 8th inning.
  20. Mariotti comes off as such a whiny pussy in these articles. I guarantee he's going to try and bring up every little thing he can in order to bash the Sox.
