  1. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:58 AM) Three or four balls hit pretty hard. Cmon big Jim. He's really only been fastball/change-up so far. It's been all about his location.
  2. Lots of fly ball outs tonight. Hard to blame them after the last week or so.
  3. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:54 AM) So what you are saying is that Hawk is reacting to Garcia throwing in the high 80s? Just trying to keep up. I didn't pick it up the first 80 times. Actually, it was more just a funny moment in the game. I wasn't ragging on it at all. You could hear Hawk's voice raise a little bit when Garcia hit the 90 mph mark. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:54 AM) Real good first four innings Freddy. I like seeing him throw the change-up to righties. It's not something he normally does, but it can be real effective when used in the right spot.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) I sure as hell know the possibility of a Liriano emerging is impossible. Don't scout latin countries can't expect to locate one. I wonder what the advantage will be of Ozzie's success as a manager in terms of signing Latino ball players in 5 to 10 years. He's the idol to a lot of those players, and it might help us in signing them down the road.
  5. Hawk reacted to Garcia at 90 mph like he does to Jenks at 100 mph.
  6. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) So........... Where's the Anthony Reyes in our minor league system? The guy better pitch like this for the next 5 years against the Cubs. He has the best control I've seen all year.
  7. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:48 AM) Another "unofficial" error for Crede. His bobble of the easy ground ball allowed the lead runner to safely advance to second, though Crede was still able to salvage the out at first. No error in the box score because he recorded an out, and the lead runner did not end up scoring, but still a flaw in the defensive wizard Joe Crede. He still made the out on the play. The runner was going on the pitch, so he had no chance to get him at 2nd base. If you're going to b**** about his defense, at least do it after a bad play.
  8. Lets get some runs, and give Garcia some room for error. Good pitch to Pujols!
  9. Walk Pujols here? The scary thing is that Rolen is probably swinging better than Pujols is right now.
  10. You can tell Hawk's frustrated with Garcia, as he keeps mentioning how Cardinals hitters had hangers to hit.
  11. When hitters don't have to worry about the fastball, that slow curve is so much easier to hit. Garcia's going to have a tough time not allowing a run this inning.
  12. We had a lot better swings that inning, just weren't able to square anything up.
  13. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) Getting outs or not, Garcia has thrown some REAL cookies in this game already... He threw a pitch to Timo that I think Jose Contreras would have hit hard. He gets out of the inning, pitching over the two defensive miscues. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) Hawk starts to laugh at how Mack almost fell over catchin a routine fly to center. Luckily he caught it. I almost thought that was going to be an insdie the parker (had Rob fallen over) that thing would have rolled all the way to the wall. For those that don't have the game on TV, it wasn't a hard hit ball at all. He's so smooth out there.
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:22 AM) Notice how CSN is making a big deal about the gun today of all days when it's almost always way off, funny how it would be such a big concern with today's starter for the Sox. I've noticed that Hawk is most vocal about the gun when Garcia is on the mound. To be honest, after all of the questioning about Garcia's velocity this season, I'm happy that he makes sure he tells the viewing audience what's going on. It took DJ 19 minutes to comment on Garcia's finesse style of pitching.
  15. Not a good throw by Uribe at all. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) anybody else see that Women with the pink shirt to the left of home plate? Hadn't noticed until now. Good find!
  16. Reyes has got some impressive control. He's going to throw that change-up on 3-2 pitches all night.
  17. Fantastic play by Crede. This is probably ironic, but Timo scares me against Garcia. jphat....you're good at finding this. What's Garcia on the gun at the Cell?
  18. Hopefully the Comcast gun is messed up. Garcia's fastball is at 77 mph.
  19. I really hope Hawk avoids any comments about Mariotti tonight. Also, if Garcia has his usual first inning meltdown, it's going to give the Cards a ton of confidence with Pujols back leading the team.
  20. QUOTE(Contreras @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) Me, too...So long as the hatchet is buried in Mariotti's fat ass. Is that another joke at Mariotti's sexuality? This whole thing is turned into such a joke. I'm much more interested in the "ass-pounding" I'm seeing on the field right now.
  21. Mariotti claims that the Sun-Times favors the Sox too much, just the way the Tribune favors the Cubs. Hangar.....get to work.
  22. Mariotti is a whiny little b****. The only thing I disagree about in this whole thing is that Ozzie called him a ###, and not a f***ing dickhead. Mariotti's reaction to everything is so predictable. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 03:44 AM) That and jellies. Doesn't it suck when you get a rock stuck in them? I agree that Ozzie should have never said this stuff. Between him and Hawk, they need to realize they're two of the most public representatives of the organization.
  23. QUOTE(My Dixie Normus @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 02:21 AM) With his home run in the bottom of the 6th inning, White Sox designated hitter Jim Thome moved to 27th on the all-time list passing Carl Yastrzemski. Good thing Hawk doesn't know about this.
