  1. Could have been strike 3 Nice double play. Hawk was ready to go apes*** on Uribe if he made a bad throw. If Iguchi gets on this inning, I love our chances of putting up a few runs.
  2. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 01:12 AM) I'm shocked by the Pods hate on the gamethread tonight. I thought he was pretty much untouchable around here. Only for one single poster. We need a double play. We can only expect Garland to keep their bats quiet for so long.
  3. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 01:10 AM) Muscle up and pull a groin. Don't you know that when he's slumping, people say it's because he's injured?
  4. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 01:10 AM) Anderson works a walk. Too bad we have our true hero hitting after him. At least he won't leadoff next inning.
  5. The Astros had bases loaded, no outs, and Marshall had no control. Ausmus swung at a 3-0 pitch, and hit into a 5-2-3 DP. The next batter then swung at a 3-0 pitch, and popped up. You have to love the NL! Is Crede hitless since he returned from his injury?
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:59 AM) The Grassy Knoll shot Ripken? No, the "conspiracy" was that Costner shot Ripken's wife.
  7. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) I forgot about the Mavs. Remember when the Sox cancelled a game real early because of weather, and it turned out to be fine at gametime, and many thought the real reason was because the Bulls had a playoff game that night and there wouldn't be more than a couple of thousand at the Sox game? That's nothing compared to the Cal Ripken/Kevin Costner conspiracy.
  8. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:54 AM) Pitching in that heat would really be the worst thing ever. Nope, catching is 500 times worse.
  9. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) Heh, I assure you NONE of us expected TB to actually win one of those games. I expected Tampa to win at least one game in that series. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) The Tigers are beating Cy McClung? Did we end up winning that game or losing it? We won it.
  10. AJP is cutting and slashing...and oh so prone to a pitch out of the zone right now.
  11. Look at the speed on the bases produce!
  12. Time for our 3-4-5 to do their thing.
  13. Man...swing the bat. How many times have our 1-2 hitters K'd looking over the last few weeks?
  14. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:40 AM) Gives me the opportunity to tell everyone just how much I really love Pods.. what an amazing LFer and leadoff hitter. If he would have been given an error on that play, I think he would have been tied for 2nd most on the team. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:42 AM) Would El Caballo have made that play? El Ozuna could have made that play. It hit his wrist on the way up.
  15. Tigers are going to win their game.
  16. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) To compound the misplay, he took his sweet ass time going after the ball. He took his sweet ass time that whole play. If he busts his ass back to the fence, it's a much easier play.
  17. What a pathetic fielder. That's f***ing horses***.
  18. Better swing by Anderson. He could have done a lot of damage if he took that to the opposite field. Couple of hard hit outs by both teams so far.
  19. Does it look like Garland's purposely throwing a few mph slower tonight? He seems to be trying to throw his sinker for more control. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) Kameron is usually off, so we better hit him tonight. Not really
  20. Here's a tough question....do we root for the Yanks or Indians tonight? The Indians are always dangerous, but the Yanks could very well be in the wild card hunt.
  21. Garland kept the ball down for the 2-3 hitters, and got out of the inning. There's a huge echo when the ball's hit tonight. FWIW, it looks like we'll get Ponson, Mulder, and Marquis vs the Cards next week.
  22. Hawk is blaming Uribe for that, but Iguchi did him no favors by waiting back so long on that grounder.
  23. Thru one batter, Garland has nothing on his pitches. It's amazing to compare his sinker to guys like Westbrook and Webb.
