  1. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 12:10 AM) I'm not going to argue this a thousand ways, but the point is Garland tipped Thomas, in my opinion. Not to get into a huge debate, but are you serious with this?
  2. That was ugly. Thome's so much better when he works the count.
  3. The odds are definitely against a quality performance by Garland. The over/under on Judy references tonight is 200. We need consistent effort by our hitters throughout the night, and not just an inning or two.
  4. Just watched the tape of the game, and I was very impressed with how the Sox took care of this game. They came out of the gates swinging, and you can't neglect the importance of last night's 9th inning. Contreras was fantastic.
  5. I bet no one would guess that AJP and Anderson have the same amount of RBI. It would be great to use this game as a momentum-builder for this coming road trip. Against the offenses we'll be facing, we're going to need it.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 03:24 AM) Seriously, why did it take so long to start BA against a RHP? Cause he's been awful all year?
  7. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 03:16 AM) Most teams would love to have Freddy as their #4. Most teams would also love to have the option of replacing Garland with McCarthy, if needed. Our starting pitching is not as lights-out as it was last season, but it isn't that bad, either. On the other hand, our current bullpen isn't even close to as good as last season's. If KW doesn't deal for a veteran reliever or two, that's going to be the difference between this and last season. Most teams would love to be able to pay more than 40 millions dollars a year for their starting rotation (wow, is that nice to be on the rich side of the payroll argument). The thing that's supposed to seperate us from the pack is our starters. So far, they've underachieved as a group. If they start to perform at an elite level, we'll be fine.
  8. QUOTE(sin city sox fan @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 03:08 AM) Did fathom go back to 7-11????? No, but I went back to the TV I was watching Iguchi's AB at for the Gload AB.
  9. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 03:00 AM) Go Back to 7-11 NOW I saw Iguchi's hit, so the rally continued with me watchin.
  10. I go to 7-11...and come back to this? No matter what, it's nice to see.
  11. This is Exhibit 1 though of why Tracey can't be a MLB reliever yet. His control is way too erratic.
  12. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) You have to be careful, otherwise the Pro-Tigerfan crowd will come and personally attack you. Look...I find tigerfan's posts to be annoying. However, the mods have said he can stay.....SO GIVE IT UP!
  13. I thought they mentioned personal milestones for the pitcher. Would it have been Thriller?
  14. I'm too lazy to look this up, but in Pods 5 starts this week vs Tigers/Indians, did he have any hits? Thankfully he had the hit yesterday.
  15. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 02:12 AM) There we go. It's working now. I will now sleep better tonight.
  16. I can almost hear the loud noises coming from people free-falling off of the Tracey bandwagon. Hopefully Montero can get an inning in tonight.
  17. I think we all know that Garcia's rotation spot is as secure as that of Buehrle, Contreras, and Vazquez. I really wonder how Garcia is able to get hitters out though.
  18. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) Anyone think there's any chance for a Garcia-Zito trade? That might be the most unrealistic trade ever proposed.
  19. Back to the game....Tracey needs to show some control.
  20. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 02:00 AM) I have resorted to watching ECW wrestling now. It's gotten that low. Please don't say anything. I'm taping it right now.
  21. Jphat....what's your favorite play of the season so far (I'm doing my best to make this more peaceful).
  22. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) Why? As it was mentioned by someone before, Guillen's leash on Garcia "is as big as the one on 'Clifford the big red dog." Trust me, I know. I just made a comment about it also. It's pretty pathetic.
  23. This was another textbook case though of Ozzie leaving a starting pitcher in too long, selfishly, so they can try and get a win. No reason for Garcia to come in this inning after being at the 98 pitch mark.
  24. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:51 AM) Freddy up to a nice 1.40 WHIP, 5.13 ERA... Keep working on it, and you'll pass Garland up, Fred!! So he got his ERA over 5? Crap...that happened quicker than I thought it would.
  25. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 01:47 AM) Our team just won the world series, is playing like s*** and despite that is 15 games over .500 what's a more realistic disposition: a. giving the team the benefit of the doubt for the first half based on what you know they are capable of b. acting like chicken little nightly in game threads What does 2005 have to do with the 2006 team? We should all appreciate and love the 2005 team for the rest of our lives.....but the 2006 team has no relation to that WS winner at all. KW made the decision to shake that team up, and now it's up to the 2006 team to make their own legacy. They're very different teams though on the field.
