  1. Lots of good pitches for Mackowiak to hit. He seems to be falling way off the ball, and can't square up anything. Great job by Pods and company that inning.
  2. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:49 PM) No, you can't, because that would be second-guessing and that is wrong! Stop
  3. PODS!! That ball seemed like it was going to hang up forever.
  4. What happened to AJ's bat speed?
  5. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) Pods is still hurting, no? Who said he's hurt? I just thought he sucks now.
  6. Well...that's tough luck. I don't understand why it wasn't Pods in to run for PK. If you're going to bring in speed, go with someone who can steal.
  7. Interesting that he'd run for PK now. That spot could easily get up in the 9th. Oh well, I like the thought though.
  8. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:36 PM) I'm glad Hawk and DJ aren't calling this game, because we'd be hearing Hawk for the umpeenth time tell us that "What's really amazing is, We haven't hit our rhythym. And we're second" over and over. When you have six guys hitting above .300 for almost an entire month, that's a good rhythm to me.
  9. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) Still doesn't make sense, that's a lot of assuming on your part. I just would have liked to see us in the position where we didn't need a hit to score a run. You couldn't ask for an easier combo to steal against than Carmona and VMart. This was more of a suggestion, and not a criticism of Ozzie though.
  10. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) Anybody know how much better Cleveland hits with RISP? Any guesses? Can I raise my hand and state that I think we've done a good job overall with RISP. I know J. Dye has been awesome this year. Sometimes, I think people forget about our offensive issues last year.
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) Would it have made a difference? They didn't hit the ball out of the infield that inning. If Pods is able to get to third with one out, Ozuna becomes 10 times more dangerous at the plate. Theoretically, a runner on 3rd scores after the hustle play by Mackowiak.
  12. QUOTE(SadChiSoxFanOptimist @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) Question: Does any other team have as much talent as the Sox with such poor offensive execution? Um....YES. The Sox aren't even close to being the most talented offensive team (not a shot at the team), and there's still other teams with more talent that can't execute.
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) Thome swung at a very marginal pitch too, it looks like he went out of his zone. Just a really bad at bat, that's two innings they squandered a great chance. Yeah, this team looked in the 7th inning like they have never seen a 2-seam fastball. Every pitch that guy threw was the same. If Thome would have made him elevate the pitch, he would have had a great chance.
  14. QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) I dont know Thome's #s lately but s*** it seems like hes struggling like hell right now... I believe he's now 4-27 in LIPS.
  15. Pathetic. I still don't understand why Pods didn't run for Widger.
  16. Thome can crush this guy if he looks to left field.
  17. Great job by Mackowiak. If Hawk was doing this game, he would have just s*** his pants.
  18. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:19 PM) If Anderson had been into that situation and grounded into a DP, you would've gone nuts. Yep...because I don't have a one game memory.
  19. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:15 PM) In other words, Paulie gets a free pass because he's Paulie. Way to be objective. :rolly This might be the first time I've ever been yelled at for not ripping on a player.
  20. Tremendous AB by Widger. Ozzie should pr him with Pods, who could easily steal 2nd against this combo. Ozzie likes to save his catcher though, so I understand why he won't.
  21. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:10 PM) We can also agree that Anderson and Uribe aren't the only ones s***ting their pants with RISP. A lot of guys tense up, and get homer/pull happy. That's common in all of baseball though.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:09 PM) Righty setup man? I'd say that compared to league averages, our CF position is much worse off than our righty set-up men. At least we have Jenks at the end of the bullpen to clean up some of the mess the righties in the pen give us.
  23. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 07:08 PM) Last I checked, it would also help if we had a CF who knew how to read fly balls. Yep...we can all agree that the position is the biggest hole on the Sox roster since the #5 starter debacle of a few years ago.
