  1. One thing I didn't like seeing in this lineup today is both Iguchi and AJP sitting. It's fine resting them, but we needed to have at least 2 of our 3 best hitters in the lineup every game (along with PK). I'm not so sure resting 2 of our hottest hitters for the same game was a great idea with how our offense is slumping.
  2. Hey guys, stuck at work and can't watch the game. Just wanted to thank everyone for their updates in the gamethread. Looks like another game where our 8-9-1 just can't produce? Lets find a way to win this game, and give KW an off day to come up with a solution to our offensive problems.
  3. The only thing Ozuna can provide out of the 2nd spot is the ability to hit-and-run if Pods gets on base. Besides that, he's a routine grounder to 2nd base waiting to happen.
  4. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 04:37 AM) Hey if we can still get something for him in the offseason I say trade him, theres no reason to lose him through waivers. Someone is going to claim him if hes put through waivers. Besides, bringing him up and him doing horribly would reduce his trade value. His trade value can't get much lower than it has been. Calling him up and Borchard playing well could increase his value....but he's not considered much of a great prospect anymore.
  5. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:00 AM) KC gives up 6 in the 9th, including a dropped 2 out flyball. Was it just a routine flyball that was dropped? I'm not liking this Indians team that will comeback no matter what the score is.
  6. Indians just scored 5 in the 9th to tie the game against KC. KC defense is making all sorts of errors.
  7. Can I expect to see articles in every Chicago paper with Ozzie saying Contreras can start a playoff game now?
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:31 AM) My heart isn't beating. I'm just happy it was a one pitch AB. It would have been even more stressful if there were a few more pitches thrown.
  9. MERCY! Damn you Ozzie....but the Sox still won.
  10. QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:27 AM) Don't worry guys...its in the bag...Bernie is coming up! Not like he's never had a clutch hit before.
  11. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:26 AM) Anyone else think Aaron could of thrown out Crosby at 3rd? No. You can let the winning run get to 2nd base.
  12. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:25 AM) Base hit. Marte sucks. How come Ozzie gives him a free pass. I hate conspiracy theories.....however!
  13. Nice fastball right down the plate by Marte.
  14. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:23 AM) WORST POST OF THE YEAR :headshake um...72 wins Also, I don't see Ozzie pitching. :headshake Are you really defending this 9th inning managing? Even the most optimistic posters on this site are livid at Ozzie. Look around, it's not just me.
  15. Is it too late to put Cotts in to face Tino? I'm so worried about the hanger. At least with Cotts, you don't really have to worry about that.
  16. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) GET MARTE OUT YOU DUMB MOTHER f***ER POSADA KILLS LEFTIES TO YOU STUPID ASS Our manager is a f***ing idiot. Even if we win this game, he's put us in a situation to lose.
  17. Marte just can't throw his slider for a strike now without hanging it over the plate. That was a ball Hawk, STFU!
  18. Remember when Marte had lights out stuff?
  19. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:19 AM) f*** man, Hermy is flaking out, hes great but s*** man we need someone healthy. He's up in the pen. I think we know who flaked out.
  20. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:17 AM) Matsui kills LHP and Marte can't get LH out. GOOD COMBO 2 more outs please with no runs!
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:18 AM) Ok, if Dustin is hurt I apologize. But if he isn't htis is f***in dumb, real f***in dumb. He's warming up in the pen.
  22. Just remember this: Cotts hasn't allowed a run in 15 outings.
  23. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:16 AM) he is your closer for a reason. Let him fail if he has to but bring him in. If Hermanson blows a 2 run lead, you tip your cap to the Yankees and go get them in extras or the next game.
  24. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) I'm in total agreement with Ozzie's move. Politte has been, in my mind, the best righty reliever the Sox have had this year. Better than Hermy. Didn't work out. Oh well. You have a closer for a reason...to get three outs in the 9th when you have a lead. Not only that, but why Marte instead of Cotts here?
