  1. Sure did our best to make that golden opportunity vanish quickly.
  2. f***ing pathetic. What the hell was PK doing? It wasn't like he was going to score if it dropped anyways. Why not bring in Ozuna to bunt there, since Crede is playing DH?
  3. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) Crede needs to bunt and get these guys over. Going to have to be a good bunt with this tremendous speed on the bases.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) There's a break. Shades of Sunday Night Baseball against the Dodgers in the 8th?
  5. What a ridiculous throw by Beltre there (in a good way). If we get these two runners over with one out, Dye better be batting for Timo.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) That's 105 pitches now for Mark, I'd say he's done for the day. Especially with Bloomquist coming up to bat. I think we should go with Politte, and not HOPE that Marte gets out Ibanez. I have a "gut" feeling that Buehrle will be back in.
  7. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) I cant see this team play .350 the rest of the season I realize it can happen but were not going to be that bad. I bet the Padres fans thought the same thing, as did the Nationals fans Again, in no way am I predicting the Sox would tank like that. Right now, if the Sox don't make the playoffs, I honestly won't be mad. They wouldn't deserve to play in the playoffs if they lost such a big lead in August.
  8. Great job Buehrle! I saw Ichiro hit two bombs against C.C. last weekend, so he was definitely scary there.
  9. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) they have 52 games left if we go 500 the rest of the year we go 27-27 minus 27 from 41 our magic number and you get 16 that means then the indians can only affrod 16 loses before there out so to get in they would have to go 37-15 to tie 36-16 If we go .500 the rest of the way, we'll make it. That's not the situation that concerns some of us. It's playing .350 ball the rest of the way which is the only scenario that could see the Sox out of the playoffs.
  10. Damn, not the two players to give up soft hits to. Not someone you want to see up in this situation.
  11. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) They actually have a losing record to KC, 4-5 Good. One of the reasons it was nice to see KC not make any trades was so they can stay tough.
  12. Again, I'm not being negative about our chances the rest of this season. I just go by the philosophy that anything can happen in sports. What's stopping a team from winning the rest of their games, or losing the rest of their games? You can throw as many statistics as you want at myself or someone else....but the game is played on the field, not in the papers.
  13. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) look at the A's .. who knew they would be this hot. Any team can get hot with good pitching and good hitting..and Cleveland has some good bats warming up at the right time. And a ridiculously easy schedule. 20 games left against KC and Tampa Bay this season.
  14. 12 in a row for Moyer now? Buehrle's going to have to make these 3 runs be enough.
  15. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) If we go 500 the rest of the year the indians would have to go 37-15 to catch us. Trust me we are in the playoffs the indians arnt goign to stay this hot and were not going to stay this cold. There's no guarantees in sports. There's no rule that says a team has to go .500, even if they play bad.
  16. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) I think we will make it, but we wont go far thats for damn sure. I think we'll make it also, but we're going to make things a lot tougher than they should be if our offense stays like this.
  17. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) Hopefully we dont play liek this the rest of the year or its 1st round and out. We play like this, in terms of hitting, the rest of the year....and there will be no playoffs.
  18. Great pitches there after the Bloomquist mistake. Now lets get some more runs. We haven't had a hit since the first inning!
  19. There's actually some protection at the top of the wrist where Buehrle got hit. Very, very lucky!
  20. Lucky play all around there. Hopefully he's ok.
  21. Gotta keep Sexson and Beltre in the park here.
  22. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Throw the ball inside on Bloomquist Obviously, not a change-up inside. This is a huge inning here, and there's 3 tough outs coming up. 3 runs doesn't seem like it's going to be enough in this game though.
  23. Tough inning here for Buehrle. And of course, there's Ichiro finding a way to get a hit against Buehrle.
  24. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) indians leading tiger 3-0 in the 4th twins losing to the red sox 1-0 in the 4th Indians offense is on fire. Victor Martinez is back to 2004 form, and Hafner being healthy is a big lift.
  25. At least Uribe learned from watching Blum's AB.
