  1. Please don't consider this b****ing: When's the last time someone on the Sox drew a walk on a 3-2 count? We always seem to get fooled on anything offspeed. I've said that if I was scouting the Sox, I'd definitely stress that you should throw offspeed pitches in hitters counts.
  2. Timo's making me miss Borchard. The Timo tracker is at 3 for 22...and counting.
  3. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 12:06 AM) Crede defense >>>>> Blum Defense Crede offense >>>>> Blum offense Say no to Blum Crede's defense lately hasn't been better than anyones. He's definitely in a fielding slump right now. The thing is...if Crede's bat speed can't catch up to a Moyer fastball, it's not going to catch up to many pitches then.
  4. Keep it going Buehrle. The meat of our order is up this inning.
  5. Crede's swing looks awfully long again. He's not even coming close to getting the bat head out on the pitch.
  6. Don't tell southsideirish and Milkman....but PK just went to the opposite field.
  7. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) Why is that we score in the 1st inning or everygame then wait untill the 7th 8th and 9th to score again. This isnt bad though because you jump on the other team early and finish them off later in the game. A lot of teams do that. The Blue Jays did the same thing against the Sox on Wednesday night. We just need to keep getting base runners.
  8. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) Saturday games at 3 o'clock the left fielders have a really hard time from like 5:30 till the end of the game. Like Podsednik, in the last inning of a Saturday afternoon game against the Indians this season. With 2 outs, Sizemore hit a routine flyball that Pods missed by 75 feet.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) Ditto, I also wouldn't be surprised to see the left fielders have some issues picking up a few balls, they're standing right in the sun it seems. Oh yeah, around 6 to 6:45 at the Cell, that sun is brutal. I'm sure a lot of people on here have been out there for batting practice before 7 pm games. It's impossible to see the ball. I remember quite a few times that Carlos misplayed flyballs on Saturday night games.
  10. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) I also dont hate uribe, his defense is preety good and he usually comes through in the clutch and when he is hot he is impossible to get out. I completely agree with what you say. Biggest problem is he hasn't had a good stretch of offensive games since early in the season. He needs to get back to driving the ball to right center like he did last year.
  11. Man, another ball that I thought was a hit off the bat by Seattle. Hawk acted upset when the ball was first hit, but Pods was there.
  12. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) I was supposed to be at this game, f*** Have I mentioned I hate Uribe? Probably shockingly to most people on this board, I don't hate Uribe. I think he's playing as bad as he possibly can this season. Maybe we should just always give him one year contracts, and make him earn the next one?
  13. Uribe is 12 for 29 on the Sox stealing bases.
  14. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) Well he's been on base 142 times, and scored 59, soooooo that's roughly 43%. I'm not sure if they take into account reaching via fielders choice, etc.
  15. Uribe's career stealing percentage is beyond awful. At least Pods gets to leadoff the next inning.
  16. Initial calculation for Pods seems like it's about 41 pct, which would be the highest in the NL.
  17. Even though it seems like Timo has been better....he's 3 for his last 21.
  18. Great job by Buehrle of getting us back up to the plate.
  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) Not arguing here, the offense has been bad this homestand. Hopefully scotty can break out of his slump both offensively and stealing bases soon, cause for most of the year it basically feels like we're getting atleast 1 run when he's on base. The showed an interesting stat during the Cubs game today. It was a stat that I haven't seen before, but really is important. Jose Reyes and J. Rollins are leading the NL by scoring about 40 pct of the time they reach base. I wonder what Pods ratio is?
  20. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) aj grounds out, crede pops up inning over great job by the sox getting on the board early Buehrle needs to get us back in the dugout.
  21. Aren't Saturday night games, especially home games, usually on WGN?
  22. I don't mean this in a negative way...but PK is definitely in his contract year stretch drive right now. He has a lot of money on the table with a good finish to his season.
  23. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) Smart ball + Long ball. Exactly. It's fine if you play for the long ball....but you're going to need a lot of homers if you can't get anyone on base.
