QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 09:06 PM)
After 82 pitches? Hell no!
If he pulls Garland after 7 innings, with the s*** he's pulled with Garcia lately......and there's going to be more conspiracy theories than you could imagine on this board.
QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 09:02 PM)
82 pitches for Jon through 7. Leave him out there.
Oh yeah. Bring in a lefty if Ibanez gets up in the 8th. Should be Cotts out of the bullpen today.
QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:59 PM)
Betancourt is a sucker for the high ones.
Yeah, as long as Garland didn't throw a strike to him, he had a great chance at getting him out.
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:53 PM)
:headshake We need Spod to get his head straight.
His batting average fell by 20 points last season after the ASB. Hopefully he hasn't burned himself out.
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:50 PM)
Well when Everett gets back he won't be DH and I still wouldn't wanna see Borch.
Yeah, I thought we were talking about if Everett is out for an extended period.
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:43 PM)
I don't know man, Borch is horrible.
You don't get much worse than Timo at DH. As we talked about last night. As a late-inning PH, he's good. As a starter, he's absolutely pathetic.
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:30 PM)
:puke I said we need hits not homers and K's.
I'd rather have Borchard at DH rather than Timo. At least if Borchard hits it hard, it's likely a homer. Even when Timo has been hitting the ball hard recently, it's right at someone. He's like 3 for his last 25.
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:28 PM)
I am eager to see what Anderson can do once called up, we need some hits and hopefully he can contribute.
Borchard will get the call-up before Anderson will.
PK was all over that pitch. I'll be shocked if the Mariners put Harris back out on the mound, as he was hanging most everything he threw that inning. Top of the order for Garland here.
Great job by Garland getting us in the dugout after we scored. It would be great to get some offensive contributions from the bottom of the order. Have they contributed anything during this home stretch?
QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:14 PM)
Bring back Blackjack! He adds 100% more than DJ to a broadcast.
DJ was like the 3rd wheel when he was up there.
Absolutely. Hawk and McDowell would be a great duo. McDowell also has a much more energetic voice than DJ does.
QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:07 PM)
Harris has had a good slider all day. About time he hung one.
Early in the count, his slider has been up. He's been throwing some very good ones when he's trying to K the guy. Both Dye and Crede had good ones to hit in that 2nd inning.
QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:02 PM)
Im sure Walker has a great plan installed
Yep, take the 86 mph fastball down the plate, as well as the 2 strike slider on the corner.
QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 07:59 PM)
I didn't expect much the first time through the lineup but he got in a little trouble earlier with 2 guys on so I expect them to do better this time.
The lefties were the two that got on, and that's cause they get a much better look at Harris. I'm not trying to steal SSI's thunder....but with this guys slider, our righties are going to keep flying out trying to pull the outside pitch.
