  1. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 04:20 AM) Post 12.
  2. We might all think a change should be made.....but Ozzie isn't changing s***, as long as we're winning games. I'm not sure I want either Rowand or Everett batting 3rd. Rowand hasn't shown me much of an ability at all this season to knock in runs. How long before someone brings up Huff in this thread?
  3. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 04:14 AM) If the Sox have the best record in the league at the end of the season and the A's get the wildcard we will meet in 1st round of the playoffs. Check out our stats vs them and see why some people are worried. If we can't beat the A's when we have homefield advantage, we don't deserve to win the World Series. I actually think we match up better against the A's in the playoffs than we do the other teams.
  4. Personally, I always thought the dead arm period was just an excuse used whenever a pitcher is having a poor stretch of game. Kinda like loser's limp and Kerry Wood.
  5. I don't know if it's a dead arm period, but I wouldn't mind seeing Ozzie ease off on the innings a little bit for his starters right now. There's been a stretch of about two weeks now where Ozzie seems to be pushing it to the extreme with his starters (ironically, besides that Garland at KC game). We're going to need these starters to be fresh towards the end of the season.
  6. ESPNews just said that an article coming out tomorrow says Palmeiro tested positived for stanozolol, which is a very potent anabolic steroid. It's the same stuff sprinter Ben Johnson got in trouble for. According to the article, the steroid doesn't come in any dietary supplement. Raffy.....YOU'RE f***ED!
  7. If the guy has stuff at all similar to the filth Towers had tonight, we're going to have some problems.
  8. Who the f*** cares about an AL West team? There's no award given for having the best record in the regular season. The Sox should be looking over their shoulders at Cleveland and the Twins....not any AL West team. The A's could win the rest of their regular season games, and it still wouldn't really impact the Sox's chances at making the playoffs.
  9. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:38 AM) Good attendance tonight, but when we gather 30000 plus the Sox seem to play like do-do's We better get used to it. I expect we'll have large crowds the rest of the season.
  10. Looks like it's up to Duque to even up this series tomorrow. It's going to be tough for him with all the lefties the Jays have.
  11. SSI won't be happy with this pull bulls*** the offense showed tonight.
  12. The dumbest thing we could do is retaliate. The last thing we need is to be known as a head-hunting team. The reason you don't want this is because for the rest of the season, you don't want to risk the umpire having a quick hook on our pitchers if they hit someone.
  13. No change in our magic number today (assuming we lose), as the Indians held on to beat the Yankees.
  14. I don't like Rowand's chances against the tough righty.
  15. Luckily, it looks like it missed his hand which I initially thought it was. He should be fine.
  16. s***, if that's a broken hand, we're absolutely f***ed in RF.
  17. Nice to see some of our players trying to hit grand slams with no one on base. Quite a disappointing game after the great first inning.
  18. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:39 AM) U think.. No other way to say it then that it's simply ridiculous and STUPID! One extra inning for Garland doesn't mean anything. Why not save him the extra 20 pitches he's had to throw this inning?
  19. Towers isn't exactly a strikeout pitcher.
  20. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) I don't think he has looked all that bad. It's like the Jays are seeing the ball real well and maybe guessing right at times. Still lots of baseball left. Well, I'll agree to disagree then. He has nothing on his pitches, and is lucky to have only given up 6 runs so far. As Hawk said, he hasn't been pitching inside enough tonight, and Jays are just leaning out and launching against him.
  21. Hawk's getting quite pissed at Garland. Even on a double play, he b****ed that the ball was over the plate.
  22. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) Didn't Adams hit two off of Garland in Toronto also? 2 in that game, but one homer was off of Viz.
  23. It's time for Mr. Adkins very soon. Nothing to gain by keeping Garland out there much longer.
