If Timo's going to be on the roster, you might as well use him in golden situations.
-
PH for Dye here! He won't touch Farnsy.
-
f*** you Konerko. That was a great pitch to hit.
-
PK has no chance on a slider if Farnsy throws it here.
-
PK looks awful at the plate right now. Stop trying to hit homers every AB!
-
Kudos to Willie though for his play at SS so far. I'm proud of him.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:25 AM) I thought a small ball team would be fine against these types of pitchers :banghead whyyyyy? :banghead Because we're not playing smallball right now. Look at our lineup? Does that look like a team that can consistently score runs? I hate to be so negative, but our stretch of good luck seems to have ended, and it's back to reality. Our offense isn't good.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) Its the same thing as last year. Our goofy hitters fall in love with pulling the baseball and the entire offense looks terrible. We made every crap soft tossing Plus 7 ERA pitcher look like Cy Young because we got pull happy. Corpseball is back. At least corpseball had power potential. We now have one homer in like 70 innings.
-
Vizcaino had a 6.39 ERA two seasons ago. Ozzie has to be careful with him, especially since he's lost 3 mph on his fastball. He's a slider only pitcher now.

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) That crazy loss against the A's has really sent us in a spin .... urghhhh I disagree. We were lucky to win the last two games in KC. Our supposed main hitters are in massive slumps right now, and we're not doing anything to generate offense.
-
Someone needs to tell Ozzie that Vizcaino is not good against righties compared to lefties. Right now, Politte is throwing the ball a lot better than Vizcaino.
-
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) THAT IS WHY WE NEED THE BIG HURT BACK NOW I wouldn't count on him being back this year. Unfortunately, the prognosis is poor.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:13 AM) We have a great offense when we hit the ball back up the middle and the other way. Our offense blows dog balls when we get pull happy. Under no circumstance do I consider the Sox to have a great offense. If we're not going to try and make things happen when we constantly get leadoff hitters on, I'd rather we go back to the big bopper approach.
-
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:11 AM) no, we haven't. That's why all those stories are being written about the Sox not being for real. I have no faith in our offense at all right now. The Tigers have tried to hand us many runs this game, and we're not capitalizing on the chances at all.
-
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) f*** the offense just can't get it going against this bum... Two straight games where the opposing pitcher had absolutely nothing, and we still couldn't do s***. It's not like we're hitting a lot of rockets. Very few hard hit balls. We're built to play smallball, but Ozzie's sitting back and waiting for the 3-run homer.
-
We've had the leadoff hitter on all 4 innings so far. It's like we're playing for a homer or double play.
-
Robertson has had no control at all tonight, yet all of our 3 outs in the 3rd inning made an out on the first pitch. Also, I'm getting sick of seeing guys, especially our righties, try and pull every soft pitch that's outside.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:32 PM) Uribe's not going to the DL. He says he's fine, and wanted to play tonight. Schnieder is just being cautious. That's not what someone in this very thread just reported was said on the radio. They said Uribe was DL bound if he wasn't feeling better tomorrow. Trust me, I hope I'm wrong. Uribe's our most dangerous hitter.
-
Well, if Uribe sounds like he's going on the DL, and Ozuna's hand is swollen, it's going to be a while before either of them are close to 100 pct. I highly doubt anyone would claim Timo, so we could get him back off the waiver wires if KW and Ozzie can't live without him.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) So what would your remedy be? We have no other major league ready calibur SSs on the 40 man roster, so in order to get someone else up here, we would have to expose one of our current roster members to waivers, just to get a guy up for for what will most likely only be a game or two at most. Is it worth risking a prospect for one or two games? The only other guy we have is Pedro Lopez who is just turned 21, and has never seen a major league pitch. He is also a guy who looked overmatched and extremely raw just a month ago in Arizona. It is easy to say KW should do something, but it isn't as easy as it sounds. I said exactly what should be done.....release Timo! We have absolutely no need for him on the team. If we end up needing a RF to take over for Dye, then call up Anderson or Borchard. There are some middle infielders that can be claimed, including guys like R. Gutierrez. No one is particularly good, but much better than making Crede or Harris play SS.
-
QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) They just announced the Willie thing on ESPN 1000. Thanks
-
I'm sorry, but Harris starting at SS tonight is bulls***. To play at least two MLB games with guys who have never played there before it absolutely inexcusable. I know KW would rather starve his own kids, but it's time we release Timo and call up another middle infielder. With Harris being able to play in the outfield (poorly, but still much better than he plays SS), there's no use for Timo.

How deep was Sweeney's fly out there?
-
For anyone watching, did T. Long botch Ford's double, or was it legit?

A little disheartnening that we've got out to such a great start, and the Twins are still 2.5 games behind us.
