  1. Great catch by Hunter there. Definitely made up for his misplay earlier.
  2. Bad call, Rowand was on the base when he was tagged by the umpire. 3 straight games now in which we got f'd over by a base umpire.
  3. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) You know, it's not like most of the time bringing in a reliever will necessarily stop a run from being scored... I totally agree with that, but when a hitter is seeing a pitcher for the 4th time in a game, and the pitcher is tiring, then it's usually a better bet to go to the fresh pitcher who the batter hasn't seen that game. It just seemed like last year, the starting pitcher for the Sox always seemed to give up a hit to his last batter in a big situation.
  4. WOW! Amazing job by Hernandez to get out of these jams. Why can't Timo use two hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) I think someone has a "gut feeling" that Hernandez will not implode on us Lets hope it's not another case where Ozzie's one batter too late......again.
  6. Hernandez throwing junk up to the plate again. He's not using his fastball to set up his other pitches, and the Twins are just sitting on the slow stuff. I'd like to see Politte brought in here.
  7. I don't like how Hernandez threw 2 eephus pitches to Jones this game.
  8. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 01:45 AM) I'm impressed by his hitting, but have I missed any talk about how slow Iguchi looks?.. yeah, his range at 2nd base isn't great.
  9. Hey, what do you know!!! Timo playing deep allowed him to catch that liner by Hunter.
  10. Well, good thing it was hit to LF! Crede almost really screwed that play up there.
  11. Ok, nicely done by Uribe. Crede's going to have a tough time scoring on a flyball here if it's not deep.
  12. With Uribe's stroke to RF, I would much rather he swing away here.
  13. Great base running by A.J. there, and Crede continues to smoke the ball.
  14. Excellent job by Hernandez there. Would anyone else have been pissed off if Mauer got a hit in that at-bat?
  15. Besides Buehrle, our pitchers do a terrible job at holding on runners. It's ironic, because it seems like every pitcher does a great job at holding on our runners.
  16. QUOTE(keninem @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) 8 balls, 40 strikes...Radke's control is insane. And our inability to make solid contact is frightening.
  17. Wow, both pitchers getting away with some bad stuff tonight!
  18. I've been pondering this for a while now, but why do we always play our 3b so deep against Ford? He probably has 10 infield hits against us with either bunts to 3b or little dribblers. That was a great bunt, but if Crede was playing closer, it would have made him swing away likely.
  19. Iguchi has a great swing on the slow stuff. He just glides it into the outfield.
  20. One more thing about Timo. He might be a good pinch-hitter, but Ozzie plays Timo way too much. How often do you see other solid PH like D. Hansen and M. Sweeney start? Very, very rarely. The reason for that is because those type of players best help contribute to the team by coming up to bat in big situations, and not having to play 9 innings to show their liabilities.
  21. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) I agree with you, fathom. I don't know why Harris can't be put in center and Rowand moved to right. You're not losing anything by doing that except losing Timo's arm, which is more than replaced by Harris' better range. The thing with Timo is that he plays entirely too deep in the outfield. Punto's ball should have been an easy catch for a RF, but Iguchi had to make a much tougher catch. Also, my blood pressure can't handle many more one-handed catches in crucial situations!
  22. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Uribe should NOT have swung at that. PERIOD. Uribe's going to swing at almost every pitch. Sometimes it works out great for him, and other times it looks like he has no chance to get a hit.
  23. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) But he's clutch... Exactly, so keep his ass on the bench for PH reasons. I'd rather Dye get to hit against a finesse pitcher like Radke in order to try and get it going.
