  1. It's going to be a long year offensively if we don't start drawing more walks. Too many easy outs in our lineup on a daily basis is trouble (BTW, I've been saying that even after games that we won. Smallball = low scoring baseball....not exactly something that works well in a hitter's park).
  2. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) Getting kicked out is overrated. No, but sticking up for your players is underrated. Ozzie left Everett out alone on the field there. Carl doesn't exactly have the best reputation for maintaining his cool. That call was awful, but it was bulls*** that Ozzie just sat on his ass
  3. I'd like to see Ozzie get ejected one time sticking up for his players.
  4. Terrible f***ing call by the umpire. Ozzie should get tossed on that play. Everett wasn't close to swinging on that.
  5. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) That last inning had nothing to do with the park he was pitching in. He gave up walks and singles that would be hits in any park. Oh, I agree with you on that. I was more making just a general comment that Garcia at home is not a very pretty situation more often than not it seems. I just can't get over the change inhis stuff from when we got him last year to how he is now. Why does it seem like every player the Sox gets, his fastball automatically loses 3 mph. Even Vizcaino looks to have lost 2 mph from last season.
  6. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) Just curious......... DOES ANYONE ON THIS TEAM HAVE A KILLER INSTINCT?!!?!?!?!?! GOD DAMN!!!!!! Killer instinct starts with your manager.
  7. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Freddy is awful to watch when he doesn't have it. You should change that to read Freddy is awful to watch at U.S. Cellular. Especially if he's becoming less of a strikeout pitcher, he's really going to have problems pitching at home.
  8. Anyone else wondering how Garcia has got any batters out this game? I find it amusing that Hawk is saying it was good to pitch around Reed in order to face someone who hit 48 homers last year, and just missed a homer in his last AB
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) Dye looks lethargic everywhere, he might need to have a seat for a day or two. Lethargic is a much kinder word than I would have said. Dye's been brutal so far. Easy out when he's hitting, and his defense has been worse than advertised so far.
  10. Does anyone know what Garcia's fastball has been clocked at today? I haven't seen him throw a single heater past someone today. Nice play by Dye in the outfield, especially w/Ichiro coming up.
  11. Garcia's throwing junk up to the plate this inning. Going to be hard to keep Mariners from scoring this inning. Getting Dobbs out would be huge with Olivo and Valdez up after him.
  12. Garcia just seems to be rolling pitches up to the plate. Maybe it's just that Meche has great stuff today, but Meche seems more much electric with his stuff than Freddy does. Oh well, as long as he keeps getting batters out, he can do whatever he wants.
  13. Nice to see a 3 run inning. Garcia needs to get the Sox back into the dugout.
  14. There ya go Tad! Thankfully it wasn't hit hard so Ichiro didn't have a play at the plate.
  15. Free Willie! Timo wasn't trying to pull that ball, he took an inside out swing. There was no chance that was going to the right side.
  16. With Iguchi's struggles, Timo should not be bunting here. Let him try and pull the ball and get a hit.
  17. We really struggle with a good fastball pitcher. Only Konerko and Uribe are what I'd consider good fastball hitters.
  18. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) dye looks like s*** His swing is awful right now. He's swinging all arms, and looks like he can't touch a decent fastball. Meche was really getting screwed by the ump that inning, but his fastball looked 5 times sharper than Garcia's did.
  19. I just hated the idea of giving up the first out of a game with a sacrifice bunter, especially when the pitcher walked the leadoff hitter. Just like with Pineiro on Friday night, you're letting the pitcher off the hook. There's no chance that this game will end up with the final score of 2-0.
  20. Anyone else have an opinion on Iguchi bunting in the first inning down 2-0 after the leadoff hitter was walked? I think it's too early in the game to start playing for one run, especially with the ball seemingly jumping out of the park.
  21. What has happened to Garcia's stuff? Even last start, his fastball seemed a lot slower than in seasons past, and he's not throwing his splitter/changeup like he did last season. Just compare the stuff he has now to the first start he made for the Sox vs the Twins last year. There's no comparison.
