  1. Politte clearly has the best fastball on our team so far this season.
  2. BTW, great job by Garcia tonight. His fastball had better location on it, and he looked more confident on the mound.
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) Gload's value shoots through the roof if he can play a decent LF/RF. Anyways, about that Cubs game that Gload botched a couple of flyballs -- I think I might have been at that game, and the wind was a real son-uvva-b**** that day. So, if that's what we're basing our judgement on Ross play OF from -- then, I'd say we should give him a shot to redeem himself. If he f***s up tonight, then OK, there goes that experiment. I definitely agree with you. I'd rather have Gload in the outfield any time instead of Everett (who's also a risk to get injured in the outfield).
  4. Gload's coming in to bat for Dye. I guess this means Gload will have to battle the tough elements in RF for 2 innings.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:15 AM) Garcia's at 95 pitches. It's iffy whether or not he'll come out -- I assume he'll come out for the 8th, but I'd like to see Cotts get some work. No need to overwork Garcia tonight. Then again, I guess I won't mind if he send Garcia out to see a batter or two. Just, let's keep Freddy below 110 pitches tonight. I'd rather we let Marte pitch a full inning than Cotts. I still have nightmares of having a large lead heading into late innings at KC from last year's season opener.
  6. Will Pods try to steal again? It's a 6 run lead, but I don't think it would be that classless to try and steal a 4th base.
  7. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) gotta love how the bottom of the lineup is producing....but you gotta hate the middle of the order is doing s***....i guess you'll have that though Exactly what I was talking about earlier in the game. No way you can change the lineup though right now.
  8. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) We are up by so many runs I would have liked to see AJ try to make that, the ball might have been to home plate before he rounded third, Hawk was pulling for it too. A.J. is extremely slow, and what Hawk didn't say was that he waited for the ball to get through the outfield before he ran. He would have been out by 30 feet at home.
  9. Wow, A.J. absolutely crushed that ball. That was a very nice adjustment by Rowand at the plate, he actually kept his hands back for the curve.
  10. Garcia has been spotting his fastball very well on the outside corner. He's only thrown a few changeups, but he had the guys fooled when he did.
  11. Wow! Everett bailed out by a terrible throw by Berroa.
  12. Something I've noticed about Pods so far this year is that he definitely has cut down on his swing. Last year, he had a pretty significant uppercut. His homers were up, but his strikeouts increased a lot as well. I always thought that a main reason for this was that the Brewers philosophy was definitely to swing hard in case you hit it.
  13. Wow, great smallball there! Knock in Pods now.
  14. Podsednik will be trying to steal here. Gotta watch for pitch-out.
  15. Great bunt by Uribe! I'd rather see Podsednik swing away here, but I bet he's bunting also. Crede better get a big lead at 2nd.
  16. I'm probably not the only one who feels our 7-8-9 is much more dangerous than our 4-5-6 right now? The lower guys in our order seem to have a better chance at hitting a liner than our heart of the order.
  17. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) Yeah, Gload is a hack in RF...I'd feel more comfortable with Carl in RF... No offense, but I don't think Carl would catch a single ball in RF tonight w/this wind. Just the thought of him in the outfield makes me cover my eyes.
  18. Hopefully I don't jinx it, but with this wind tonight, I'd much rather have Dye in RF though than Timo or Gload.
  19. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) I don't have anything else to say about Dye and Rowand, this is awful. A scary thought is Rowand and Dye having to face Cubs pitchers. I'd be shocked if they hit the ball once during a 6 game series.
  20. Rowand's swing is awfully mechanical right now. Every swing is the same, no matter what type of pitch it is.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:23 AM) Is someone else injured for the Twins? They got Morneau back tonight. Only injured guy is Balfour, but he's not a main contributor on the team by any means. Their pen is just fine without him.
