  1. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) I am so against this. Hopefully Shingo can get the save, but c'mon. Ibanez walked into that pitch. Marte got him on the corner the pitch earlier so he decided to take one for the team. Ozzie clearly has no confidence in Marte & that's going to hurt the team in the long run. If the next matchup favors Shingo then I can understand it but using Marte for one batter is crazy otherwise. Ozzie clearly has no confidence in any of his relievers it seems like.
  2. Shingo has nothing. His pitches are right over the plate to get drilled. He's missing his location on everything.
  3. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 02:28 AM) I had this ugly feeling he was gonna hit em. Geesh. :headshake Marte has a better chance of hitting a batter than throwing a strike if the catcher is set up inside.
  4. Boone definitely has a slider speed bat. Shingo needs to be careful with his slow stuff, Boone can hit it out to RF easily.
  5. Why would you ever call an inside fastball with Marte playing to a lefty? You could see that happening as soon as A.J. set up behind the plate. Another terrible f***ing job by Ozzie of using the bullpen. Marte should have been in to start the inning, so that he had breathing room against 3 out of 4 lefties.
  6. QUOTE(traydragen @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 02:25 AM) What did he throw him? Slider right over the plate.
  7. Marte's in to face Ibanez. It will likely be the only batter he faces, with Boone on deck.
  8. Wow, Vizcaino strikes out Beltre on the worst pitch of the AB!
  9. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 02:22 AM) Ozzie! Why?! Why do you persist in giving me an ulcer?! Vizcaino is NOT a 30 pitch releiever. He's good for one inning. That's it. Why can't you figure that out? Just look at the numbers if you didn't learn anything from the last game! My thoughts exactly. No reason for Marte to not start this inning!
  10. With 3 of Seattle's top 4 hitters being lefty this inning, not sure why Marte wasn't brought in? He's warming up now.
  11. Shingo coming in for the 9th? Ozzie should have Marte up in case Ibanez is up in a game-tying situation.
  12. I sure don't miss Olivo being a liability against any righty pitcher that has a slider. I'll never forget his pathetic at-bat at Tampa Bay 2 seasons ago when he swung at some sliders a good 2 feet outside.
  13. No complaining by me tonight about the decision to pull Garland. Relievers always seem to have a better chance against the first hitter when there's no one on base.
  14. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) Does Iguchi look as bad as his line? Yes, he looks as bad at the plate as he did good against Santana on Sunday night.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) Jon only has 87 pitches. If Oz brings him out, he better be on a very short leash. Like not be bringing the tying run to the plate. Vizcaino should be starting the inning. No reason to mess around with Garland out there. Spiezio has always been dangerous vs Garland in the past.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) Phew Jon weathers the storm. Anyone else think that was a hit off the bat by Winn?
  17. Big DP! Very good job by Garland there to get a very tough batter.
  18. Vizcaino should be in to face the tough lefty here. I thought that's one of the main reasons we got him.
  19. Take him out Ozzie! 5-2, tying run up to bat. Garland's pitches have had no velocity this inning.
  20. Bases loaded for the Mariners. 1 out for Boone.
  21. Ozzie needs to get someone up in the pen. No one is throwing yet.
  22. QUOTE(traydragen @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) Just got in and what the hell did I see...perfect through 6..hopefully this is a sign of things to come from Judy...I mean John By the way, I know he's pitching great from just the numbers but is everything clicking for him tonight and is he hitting all of his spots or has some of this due to the Mariners hitters?? He's been real good, hitting his spots. Mariners have hit one ball deep. Besides that, nothing out of the ordinary.
  23. 2 out rbi for Uribe! He's swinging great tonight. Also, Bobby Hill just put the Pirates up by 2 against the Cubs in the 8th!
