  1. I've been pondering this for a while now, but why do we always play our 3b so deep against Ford? He probably has 10 infield hits against us with either bunts to 3b or little dribblers. That was a great bunt, but if Crede was playing closer, it would have made him swing away likely.
  2. Iguchi has a great swing on the slow stuff. He just glides it into the outfield.
  3. One more thing about Timo. He might be a good pinch-hitter, but Ozzie plays Timo way too much. How often do you see other solid PH like D. Hansen and M. Sweeney start? Very, very rarely. The reason for that is because those type of players best help contribute to the team by coming up to bat in big situations, and not having to play 9 innings to show their liabilities.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) I agree with you, fathom. I don't know why Harris can't be put in center and Rowand moved to right. You're not losing anything by doing that except losing Timo's arm, which is more than replaced by Harris' better range. The thing with Timo is that he plays entirely too deep in the outfield. Punto's ball should have been an easy catch for a RF, but Iguchi had to make a much tougher catch. Also, my blood pressure can't handle many more one-handed catches in crucial situations!
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Uribe should NOT have swung at that. PERIOD. Uribe's going to swing at almost every pitch. Sometimes it works out great for him, and other times it looks like he has no chance to get a hit.
  6. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) But he's clutch... Exactly, so keep his ass on the bench for PH reasons. I'd rather Dye get to hit against a finesse pitcher like Radke in order to try and get it going.
  7. Timo as our 5th hitter is an absolute joke. He's now 4-21 on the season!
  8. Fantastic sequence by Hernandez there. Gotta get the number 9 hitter out here.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Anyone else see the Everett foul/fair ball? I couldn't tell if it caught the line or not. It looked foul at first glance, but I couldn't tell for sure. It was foul
  10. If Hernandez doesnt get the ball down, it's going to be a long night for him. Just like his last Indians start, he's hanging everything.
  11. I don't get why we didn't challenge Hunter last Sunday when there were 2 outs, but we did when there was 1 out tonight? Especially with Podsednik being an injury question mark, that was a peculiar call in that situation.
  12. s***, that was a crappy slide by Podsednik. You have to make sure you touch the plate.
  13. 2 straight hits!!! Got to make sure we score at least one run here.
  14. Great bunt by Pods, but he should have dove into first base. It's ok though, rather he not get reinjured.
  15. Pretty sad 5 pitch inning for the Sox that inning. Marte coming in?
  16. Be nice to get some runs against Guerrier here. He's not exactly a good reliever, especially compared to the rest of their guys.
  17. Great inning by Vizcaino there. Have a feeling that Marte will be put in for the 8th, with Hermanson being used as the safety closer if Shingo struggles.
  18. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 02:17 AM) Suddenly I have a hard time writing out a lineup when Frank comes back. There's no way Everett can sit as hot as he is right now. I agree, but it's going to be quite a while until Frank's back in the lineup on a consistent basis. If Everett stays hot like this, then I'm ready to admit he needs to play in the outfield. Hopefully Dye will pick up his game.
  19. That's it, he can play outfield every game if he wants!
  20. Thankfully we got out of it, but I'm not happy with what I see from Vizcaino. He looks like he's fallen in love with his slider, and his fastball has lost about 5 mph from last season. It's going to be hard to fool batters if they're sitting on the slider.
  21. If the Sox find a way to win this game, it will be purely amazing. Twins have had 15 baserunners in 6 innings.
  22. This is the last I'll say about it: If you're going to bring Vizcaino in after one batter, he should have started the inning. Especially with the batter being a righty, I have no f'n clue why Ozzie let Cotts start the inning.
