  1. That does not look good for Zaun. He took a direct blow from Lopez's knee.
  2. Lopez was very, very close to coming off the base too early there. Thankfully, the umps rarely call that.
  3. This is the risk you get bringing in Marte. Even DJ thinks Hermanson should have been left in to pitch.
  4. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Great call by Ozzie here. Zaun isn't as good from the right side. That's true. See my post about keeping Marte in after this batter. I'd much rather face McDonald than Hudson or Cat.
  5. Why Ozzie? If you're going to bring in Marte here, you have to keep him in to face McDonald so that Catalanotto and Hudson don't bat. I would have liked to see Hermanson try to close it out. Good job Dustin!
  6. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 8, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) Why? He's been hot lately, why not go with him? He has been? I know he's picked up the saves, but he hasn't been throwing the ball very well. Oh well, lets hope he can get the job done!
  7. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) Takatsu warming... I'll say it right now: that's a dumb decision by Ozzie.
  8. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 8, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) Agreed. He only faced 2 batters and threw 7 pitches. Not only that, but he's easily been our best reliever. If the Blue Jays tie it or beat us with Hermanson pitching, then so be it. I'd much rather have Hermanson blow a game than to have Shingo come in, walk two batters, and then give up an extra base hit. Also, Toronto has some tough lefties on the bench that could ph against Shingo.
  9. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 8, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) There people can simmah down. Buehrle's done. Agreed, he got him out, that's all we can ask for. The only reason we wanted Marte in to face Koskie was that Koskie is 1-13 in his career against Buehrle w/8 Ks, I believe they said. Buehrle with one of the most deceiving 7.1-2 ER games you'll see.
  10. Great pitch there by Buehrle to strikeout Koskie. It's so risky throwing him inside because he'll try to get hit.
  11. 5 straight awful AB for the Sox. For some reason, it seems like we're going to need another run to win this game.
  12. Have a feeling Shingo will close if we have the lead going into the 9th. Hopefully, we can get some more insurance runs.
  13. Marte should be in to start the next inning, as Koskie has a poor history against him. However, I have a feeling Buehrle might be left in to face Koskie.
  14. Everett is swinging hard than ever it seems like now, and he seems to be fouling off a lot of very hittable pitches. Everett always seemed like he hit better from the left side when he just tried to hit liners with a lot of backspin.
  15. I know Iguchi has been doing great this year, but I still think Uribe is perfect for the 2nd spot in the order. It's nice that we have the depth to plug guys in different parts of the order in case of injury or slump.
  16. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 8, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) Vizcaino has some nice stuff, but he isn't that good. Politte has emerged as the seventh-eighth *inning* guy over Luis, IMO. Ozzie has to be careful with Vizcaino. He's not exactly a reliable reliever, as is evidence by his terrible season two years ago. It's nice to see his velocity starting to increase though, as he was throwing about 3 mph less than he was last year.
  17. Buehrle will start the 7th inning. At 89 pitches, I'd almost guarantee it.
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 8, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) I'd rather see Politte in a one-run game. Agreed
  19. There's no way it's anything but 2 earned runs for Buehrle. You can't assume a double play, but you can assume it would have been the third out of the inning with the error before it.
  20. Also, was there a particular reason that Iguchi isn't playing today? Or is it just Ozzie trying to get Lopez a start?
